Rather than separating functions, the design embraces overlap, encouraging interaction, visibility, and collective engagement throughout the space.

This café interior is conceived as a layered spatial field, where transparency and overlap define the experience rather than enclosure.
Instead of a strictly linear composition, the space unfolds through a series of open zones that visually intersect, allowing activities, light, and movement to remain continuously connected.

Glazed garden enclosures are positioned as spatial mediators—neither fully inside nor outside—introducing depth and visual permeability across the interior. Seating arrangements respond to this condition through curved benches, freestanding tables, and informal groupings that soften circulation and encourage fluid occupation.

A restrained material palette of light timber, textured surfaces, and neutral tones establishes continuity across the space, while skylights and diffused artificial lighting reinforce a calm and evenly lit atmosphere. The interior is not defined by singular focal points, but by a sequence of spatial layers that support everyday use, flexibility, and prolonged presence.

This café is conceived as an inward-looking architecture where landscape, light, and social life take precedence over form.
Organized around a central courtyard, the project dissolves the boundary between indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing circulation, seating, and vegetation to merge into a continuous spatial experience.

A restrained palette of plaster, terrazzo, concrete, and timber creates a neutral backdrop one that amplifies natural light, shadow, and human presence rather than competing with them.
Through shaded terraces, permeable edges, and layered seating, the architecture prioritizes atmosphere, comfort, and duration of stay.

Rather than seeking iconic expression, the design focuses on how people move, pause, and gather, positioning the café as a quiet social landscape shaped by climate and everyday rituals.

This project presents a contemporary reinterpretation of classical architecture, translating principles of symmetry, proportion, and hierarchy into a spatially efficient and modern built form. Rather than reproducing historical ornamentation, the design abstracts classical elements into simplified geometries and restrained detailing, allowing the architecture to express formality and permanence without visual excess.

The building is organized through a clear axial composition that establishes a strong sense of order and orientation. This formal arrangement guides circulation while reinforcing spatial hierarchy between public, semi-public, and private areas. The clarity of this organization enables the project to accommodate multiple functions seamlessly, supporting both residential and communal activities within a coherent architectural framework.

Material selection plays a key role in reinforcing the project’s architectural intent. A predominantly light-toned palette is employed across both interior and exterior surfaces, enhancing natural light distribution and emphasizing spatial continuity. Polished stone flooring, neutral wall finishes, and subtle metal accents are combined to create a calm, unified atmosphere that supports the classical proportions of the space while remaining distinctly contemporary.

Interior spaces are defined by generous ceiling heights and repetitive wall paneling, which establish rhythm and scale without relying on decorative excess. Lighting is integrated as an architectural element rather than a focal feature, using a combination of recessed fixtures and select statement lighting to articulate key spaces and enhance spatial depth.

The relationship between interior and exterior is carefully maintained through aligned openings and consistent proportions, ensuring that the architectural language remains legible from multiple viewpoints. Landscape elements and reflective surfaces further soften the building’s presence, allowing it to sit comfortably within its context.

A Tropical Courtyard House Defined by Privacy and Material Restraint

This residential project explores a contemporary response to tropical urban living through an introverted architectural composition. A solid terracotta perimeter wall establishes privacy from the street while acting as a climatic buffer, allowing the house to turn inward and organize daily life around a central courtyard. This spatial strategy creates a gradual transition from public to private, balancing enclosure with openness.

Natural ventilation and daylight are optimized through layered spaces, shaded corridors, and semi-outdoor areas, reducing dependence on mechanical cooling. Warm textures—such as terracotta finishes and vertical wood slats—are contrasted with black steel elements to express structural clarity and material honesty. Inside, built-in furniture and full-height cabinetry reinforce spatial efficiency and visual calm, while carefully framed openings reconnect interior spaces with greenery.

Rather than pursuing formal spectacle, the house emphasizes proportion, atmosphere, and environmental intelligence, presenting a quiet yet confident model of tropical domestic architecture rooted in context, comfort, and longevity.
