Rethinking tropical canopy architecture. Habitat Garden

This project connects multi-level commercial spaces through a low-carbon architectural footprint, seamlessly integrating them into a lush urban garden.
The design demonstrates the efficiency of treating the facade, roof, and ceiling as a single, cohesive envelope. It is carefully engineered to optimize natural daylight and cross-ventilation during the day, while utilizing high-performance interior lighting to activate the facade at night-redefining energy efficiency in urban commercial buildings.

Roofscape is the manifestation of an outward-looking, undulating topography that blurs the threshold between installation and public terrain. It stands as an artistic pause within the energetic pulse of ARCH:ID, opening outward so visitors might intuitively grasp the alun-alun as the spiritual center of the civic realm.

Folded Rooms Garden is an experimental residential intervention located within a compact urban pocket in Bandung, Indonesia. The project challenges the conventional reliance on vertical partition walls, proposing instead a fluid sequence of living environments seamlessly integrated with the landscape.

Serving a bigger picture, this small experiment acted as ecological urbanism of a permeable prototype. Beyond its formal experimentation, Folded Rooms Garden serves as a micro-urban prototype. By maintaining 70% permeable green area, the project prioritizes on-site rainwater harvesting—a critical response to Indonesia’s dense city planning.

This small villa prototype from RAD+ar demonstrates how decentralized "pocket spaces" can be transformed into decentralized ecological nodes. It advocates for a shift in typology where private developments actively contribute to the city’s hydrologic health, serving as a "green gateway" that balances architectural playfulness with environmental responsibility that could inspire thousands of similar pocket spaces all around the scattered archipelagos nation.

One vision, two global recognitions.
One step closer to decentralize backyard poultry as a mean of household's food waste processor towards the world.

We are proud to share that RAD+ar—represented by Principal Architect & Managing Director Antonius Richard—presented Chicken Hero Pavilion as a finalist in two categories at the World Architecture Festival (WAF):

• Display Architecture — Highly Commended
• Small Project of the Year — Finalist

Receiving the Highly Commended distinction in the Display Architecture category is a meaningful acknowledgment of the project’s conceptual clarity, narrative strength, and its ability to engage the public through design.

Chicken Hero Pavilion is a four-week temporary installation designed to inspire backyard poultry cultivation—promoting proactive, accessible sustainability for individuals and communities alike.

This pavilion embodies our commitment to design that sparks awareness, encourages action, and integrates sustainability into everyday life.

A warm congratulations to all the partner and collaborators for bringing the story and spirit of Chicken Hero to the global stage. Standing alongside leading voices in architecture is an honour—one made more meaningful by the project’s message that extends far beyond its physical form.

This recognition marks a proud milestone for our team and collaborators, reflecting what can be achieved through shared vision and purpose.

The latticework principle, having been essential in the hot, humid tropical climate of Indonesia for hundreds of years, is a key identity component for essential climate control and a brilliant example of bioclimatic design.

When readapted with greater design freedom and flexibility through dual coding (function and symbolism), the lattice becomes a modern, high-performing shading device that simultaneously serves as a visually rich, contextually-relevant screen recalling local architectural experimentation in sustainability.

Kilo Kitchen has named Winner-Asia of Restaurant & Bar Design Awards 2025 in Dubai

Vernacular Injection - Minimal Intervention to Forge 'Another Space'

The design proposal leverages a strategic juxtaposition between the vernacular heritage of Kilo Kitchen and the existing structural fabric of the commercial building, achieving seamless contextual integration. An artistically crafted vernacular installation functions as a spatial focal point, orchestrating fluid connectivity across open-plan zones without the interruption of walls. This approach optimizes constructability, minimizes embodied energy, and fosters spatial continuity, while also generating a spectrum of semi-enclosed, intimate microspaces within the 775 sqm footprint.

The integration of the natural landscape and the ascending 9-meter-tall atrium enhances daylight harvesting, enriching the ambient conditions within the double-height volumetric spaces. The ‘Object-based Interior’ concept emphasizes tactility and materiality through thoughtfully curated objects, furniture, and textures scaled to human proportions, creating a deliberate contrast with the dynamic spatial volumes and sculptural art elements that accentuate spatial fluidity and volumetric clarity.

Lattice Garden - Creative Compound
in Jakarta's busiest business district showcases how commercial gardens can thrive amidst dense urban landscapes, utilizing waste as its core identity, transforming upcycle plastic waste into floating lattices that dance among existing trees while serving as a natural sunscreen.

Link-Scape in "Another World is Possible"
Artscience Museum Singapore from 13th September

Exposing Nature, Enclosing Urbanism

*Reconnecting Habitats – Nature Conquers Manmade Structures*
The initial idea is to connect the existing green spaces in Singapore with a tower that spans from one green point to another. The Link-Scape Tower acts as a bridge connecting habitats, demonstrating a greater affinity for nature and wildlife.

*Balancing Between Commercial and Residential Zoning*
Residential units are integrated into the Link-Scape Tower and distributed across various areas in Singapore, including the city center, near offices and commercial hubs. The intention is to reduce the need for travel and alleviate peak-hour traffic congestion.

*Adopting Innovative Ideas to Improve Living Environments and Optimize Land Use*
The Link-Scape Tower functions as a massive water-harvesting system, where rainwater falls onto the rainforest above and is distributed along the arc's surface. The gravitational pressure from the rainwater downpipe is utilized for the elevator system, which connects the residential units to the city area below. A layer of reflective ceiling is implemented to allow sunlight to enter the residential units and common spaces in between.

Coconut Wellness Garden's
mission was to create a unique yoga center that evokes feelings and experiences while adhering to the standards of equitable use.

To provide users with an unforgettable tactile experience, materials that reflect the aesthetics and vibes of the island, such as in-situ ondulating rammed earth, timber, and locally sourced natural limestone as main cladding reinforced against corrosive air, were used in unconventional ways to complement the serene beauty of the existing landscape.

The site stands out with its serene and natural material palette, characterized by the simplicity and elegance of minimalist construction techniques.

Biota Education + Ocean Activity + Sunset Deck

The swirling ironwood structures start from the decking and extend to diagonal structures and facades, which actas windbreakers and shades for visitors. Pusaran serves as aneducational deck for observing the workings of the ocean, winds, and natural biota in the open waters of Karimun Jawa.

In a time when water constructions are often made of heavy, less corrosive concrete structures, with little consideration for the impact on the waterscape, Pusaran aims to achieve an ever-changing parametric space andshadow play using 100% vernacular timber construction that can last a lifetime.
