Batang Garing merupakan simbol kosmologi utama dalam kepercayaan masyarakat Dayak, yang merepresentasikan pohon kehidupan—hubungan sakral antara manusia, alam, dan dunia spiritual. Perancangan tapak memadukan masa lalu, masa kini, dan masa depan: apa yang diingat membentuk identitas, apa yang dirasakan membangun pengalaman, dan apa yang terlihat memproyeksikan visi ke depan.

Melalui pendekatan Gawai sebagai perayaan budaya, ruang dirancang dengan intervensi minimal terhadap alam dan efisiensi luasan bangunan. Ruang budaya ini menjadi medium interaksi sosial, refleksi nilai lokal, serta upaya pelestarian hubungan harmonis antara manusia, masyarakat, dan lingkungan.

Asia Raya is opening an Architectural Internship opportunity.

We believe that learning architecture happens best through real projects, real challenges, and real collaboration.
If you are curious, motivated, and passionate about architecture and design, this internship is a place for you to grow, explore, and sharpen your skills.

As an intern, you will be involved in the design process—from concept development, drawings, and visualizations to teamwork in a professional studio environment. You will learn how ideas are translated into built reality.

This is an architectural internship position based in Pontianak.

What we’re looking for:
– Architecture students or fresh graduates
– Basic proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and rendering software
– Willingness to learn, adapt, and work collaboratively
– Passion for architecture, interiors, and design thinking

On November 14th to 23rd, Indonesian Architects Week in Kuala Lumpur brings together 70 architects from 11 provinces across Indonesia to introduce Indonesia's diverse culture and environments through an exhibition with the theme "Equatorial Synaesthesia". The goal to brings out the regionalism and how it blends with local narratives that creates sensory experiences in every architecture designs that were exhibited was truly successful.

Is it because we came from a country known for its location beneath the equator? We don't know— but the warm athmosphere of the exhibition proved that everyone is having a great time and were welcome to discuss about the various architectural creations. In the heart of Kuala Lumpur, a memory was created.

And on top of that, our Studio Asia Raya team was having a blast being away from work for a week (wink, wink). What's more fun than having a time off while being a part of IAWKL 2024?

We are sooo ready for our next journey.

As participants in the indonesia architect week 2024 in kuala lumpur last month, we proudly presented our project, "rumah sehat," under the category of cultural and ecological resonance. Shaped by the theme of equatorial synaesthesia, it reimagines critical regionalism, seamlessly blending local narratives with sensory experiences to foster a profound connection between space and identity.

We are deeply grateful to have been part of the indonesia architect week, alongside 69 firms from 11 provinces across indonesia, curated by rizki supratman and trianzani sulshi.

As part of the Bintaro Design District 2024 event series, we invite you to visit the exhibition 1x1 Rumah Sehat by Studio Asia Raya.

Maternal and child hospitals as healty homes must certainly pay their role as they should. However, efforts to remove hospitals with stigma of "cold" mass fragmentation are present by forming warm and inclusive comunal interaction spaces, with different elevations, creatig solid and void spaces that act as filters for air dan sunlight entering the building. the connection between elevations with ramps as daily activities is an effort to provide the same spatial experience without discrimination for all those who area active in the hospital, patients, people with disabilities, and medical personnel.
