O'Connell Quarries is a family owned and operated business based in Ardnacrusha, Co Clare, just 3 miles from Limerick City. We supply a wide range of aggregates and ready-mix concrete for the construction, agriculture and private sector industry in the South West of Ireland. We run a fleet of rigid tippers and mixer trucks, which are operated on a computerised tracking system enabling us to provid

Due to our High Polished Stone (PSV) chips our portfolio of customers ranges from major construction companies to local authorities and a wide range of asphalt providers. We regularly test our PSV chips to ensure they are within the national and international standards. Our truck fleet has grown over the years with our signature yellow and red trucks as we continue to provide crushed aggregates in the limerick and Clare area. Due to the demand our high quality PSV stone we have travelled the length of the country to provide Local Authorities with road making materials.

O’Connell Quarries were proud to receive two awards at the Irish Concrete Society 43rd Annual Awards last week.

The Brian Boru Bridge was named Infrastructure Category Winner, recognised for its engineering complexity, innovative use of precast and in-situ concrete, and the precision required to deliver such a technically demanding project in a sensitive marine environment.

The University of Limerick Student Centre was awarded Building Category Winner and Overall Winner, standing out for its architectural quality, structural clarity, and the way concrete was used to shape both the building and the experience within it.

Both projects reflect the level of coordination and standard delivered across the teams involved.
