August at MCMG: Let’s Recap

🎳 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬: Hollywood Bowl UK is preparing to open its doors next month. The 23,000 sq ft entertainment centre at The Boulevard Banbridge will be opening 21 lanes, amusements, bar and restaurant, all delivered by the MCMG team. A project we’ve been proud to share from appointment to opening day.

🏗️𝐎𝐧 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞: A busy month for our teams as work continued across numerous live projects in retail, leisure, workplace and residential with our teams operating in Cork, Dublin, Belfast and London.

New Project Announcement: MCMG x swim! Newtownabbey 🏊

MCMG has started on site at Swim! Newtownabbey - the first Swim! children's swim centre in Northern Ireland, founded by Olympic champion Rebecca Adlington and fellow Olympian Steve Parry, Swim! is a learn-to-swim centre designed especially for children aged 0–11, the brand's 17th purpose-built venue in the UK.

The facility will include a child-friendly pool heated to 31°C, an air-conditioned viewing gallery and spacious changing rooms, and is projected to create up to 50 jobs when it opens this autumn.

Converting the former DW Sports Fitness building into a specialist aquatic facility is a technically demanding brief, pool construction, environmental control, and a fit-out designed entirely around small swimmers and their families.

Overall, we’re seeing a real increase in demand for Cat B office fit-outs, with more enquiries turning into live projects than we’ve seen for some time.

As businesses continue to encourage employees back into the office, there’s a growing recognition that the workplace itself needs to offer more than just desks and meeting rooms. Creating an environment that people actually want to work in has become a key priority.

📷 Project Spotlight: Harvey Norman

MCMG delivered the interior fit-out for Harvey Norman's new store at Boucher Road, Belfast - a large-format retail environment spanning across furniture, bedding and electrical departments.

Large-format retail brings its own demands: expansive floor plates, multiple department zones with distinct fit-out specifications, heavy servicing requirements, and a programme built around the retailer's trading calendar.
Delivered on programme and to specification.

🏗️ On-site Update: Banbridge

Work is progressing on site at where MCMG is delivering the fit-out for the new Hollywood Bowl.

23,000 sq ft. 21 bowling lanes. A fully licensed bar, state-of-the-art amusements and pool tables - all due to open this autumn.

Fit-out projects of this scale involve close coordination across multiple trades and a programme that has to be hit stage by stage. We'll be sharing updates as the build develops towards completion.

Another project, delivered.

Both Next at Marshes Shopping Centre, Dundalk and Next Newbridge has now opened - 7,500 sq ft across Womenswear, Menswear and Kidswear, built to the newest Next store concept design, featuring maximised light, brand new feature wall finishes and flooring.

Delivering a flagship retail fit-out to a global brand's exacting concept specification demands precision at every stage. Brand standards are non-negotiable, the timeline is fixed, and the finish has to be consistent with stores across hundreds of locations nationwide.

Congratulations to the team at Next on a fantastic new addition to both Dundalk and Newbridge.
