Your Attic Tank Might Need This First!
Before we insulate this attic water tank, there are a few things we recommend taking care of first.

💧 New insulated tank cover
🧼 Clean the inside of the tank — because, quite frankly, you don't want to be brushing your teeth with that water!

🔧 Adjust the ballcock so that it operates at the correct up-and-down angle. If it's left leaning to one side, the repeated movement over time can put unnecessary wear on the mechanism and cause it to fail sooner.

Once these items are addressed, we can properly insulate the tank and help protect it from heat loss and freezing temperatures.

🚨 Attic inspections can reveal more than just poor insulation.

This thermal camera clip shows warm patches above the light fittings in the upstairs corridor ceiling.
That’s because the insulation has moved away from each light, so the heat from outside sunshine and the warm summer air is heating the ceiling from above. Even with LED lights, these gaps can still cause problems. In winter, they will show up as cold spots if they’re not fixed. We’ll fit proper covers around the lights and top up the insulation to make the ceiling more efficient and help keep the home warmer.

Another attic, another one insulated properly. We also spotted a worn ballcock valve, replaced it with approval, and left the homeowner with one less thing to worry about.
