Could your house do this?

You don’t always need to build bigger. Sometimes, you need to build better.

This transformation was about rethinking how the existing home worked, improving the relationship between rooms, bringing more natural light into the spaces, creating better circulation, and strengthening the connection between the interior and garden.

Rather than simply adding more space, we reshaped what was already there to make the home feel brighter, more connected and more functional, inside and out.

A renovation isn’t always about adding square metres. Sometimes, it’s about unlocking the potential that’s already there.

5 things we notice when we visit a house for the first time.

Before we think about what a house could become, we look closely at what’s already there.

- Where does the sun move throughout the day?
- How do you arrive and enter the house?
- What do you see when you first walk through the door?
- How does the house connect with the garden and landscape?
- Which spaces are really being used — and which aren’t?

These details might seem simple, but they can tell us a lot about how a home works, where its potential lies, and what could be improved.

Today we wanted to show another past project that we are very proud of completing!

Generally architecture posts are mostly of exteriors, however, at Keenan Eco, we do interiors as well!

We revamped the Allingham Arms Hotel Foyer and designed this fantastic centre-piece reception desk with offices behind. The design compiles three shades of floor tiles arranged in a bespoke pattern and large decorative central lighting features. The reception desk has been relocated to the forefront so staff can greet you as you enter the doors of the hotel. Ambient lighting has been installed which gives the lobby and reception desk a gorgeous and calming radiance. Wall fixtures with warm lighting were also installed along timber wall panelling to extend the light further around the room. Comfy armchairs and sofas complementing the sage green panels were set around tables to provide comfort for guests waiting or seated in the Foyer area.
