Could a better BER make your home worth more? 🏠

Research into almost 50,000 Irish home sales found that every step up the BER scale was associated with an average 2.7% increase in sale price.

For a €400,000 home, that’s more than €10,800.

The increase was even higher for rural homes, at almost 5% per BER step.

The research also found that, for a typical retrofit, the increase in property value generally exceeded the cost of the work, before factoring in potential energy savings.

Ireland has now passed 3 GW of installed solar capacity, with solar generation recently hitting a record 1.3 GW, enough to meet over a third of national electricity demand.
