I’m really looking forward to speaking in Ballyhea on Friday, 6 November at 7.30pm.
This evening feels particularly special because Ballyhea is so close to home, and I know many people within the community.
The talk is called:
One Step at a Time, Together
I’ll share parts of my own story, including the losses, sustaining a spinal cord injury and the journey of rebuilding my life.
But the evening is not only about my story.
Every one of us has our own challenges, pressures and experiences. Some are visible; others are carried quietly.
I’ll speak about some of the things that have helped me look after my mind and move forward in life—including the decisions we make, where we place our energy, the courage to express ourselves, the importance of perspective and connection.
My hope is that people will leave feeling encouraged, connected and perhaps with one practical step they can take in their own lives.
The evening is a fundraiser in aid of the Ballyhea Active Age Party, with Stephen Dennehy as MC.
Tickets are €10, including tea and coffee, and are available from Ballyhea Shop, Love Cherish and Abbey Printing.
I would love to see you there. If you know somebody who might benefit from the evening, please feel free to share this post with them.
We don’t have to take every step today. We only have to take the next one—and we don’t always have to take it alone.
