No label, double charge?

Farmers are being warned: turn up at an IFFPG plastic collection without proof of purchase — and you could be charged twice.

New traceability rules, introduced after a Department of Environment review, mean farmers must now show label codes for where and when plastic wrap was bought.

The changes follow scrutiny of IFFPG’s finances and operations, with the scheme under pressure to rebuild its contingency fund and tighten oversight.

But some say the system is unfair — especially for those who get silage film from contractors.
