It's hard to believe it's the August Bank Holiday weekend already. There is a subtle but noticeable change to the early morning and late evening light. Dawn arrives a little later, evenings don't linger quite as long, and the sunlight has taken on that lovely golden glow that quietly reminds us the seasons are softly beginning to turn.
We're still very much in the heart of summer, but August always feels like a gentle turning point. Mornings are a little fresher, and if you're out early, you can sense that nature is slowly changing pace.
After the major heatwave we've had, many of our gardens are feeling the strain, even with the welcome rain showers over the past few days, the ground is still very thirsty, and many plants are showing the effects of weeks of hot, dry weather. Still, it's amazing how resilient a garden can be. A little rain, a little care, and before long there's fresh growth, new blooms, and plenty to remind us why we love spending time outdoors.
Our garden is still open to visitors on most days over the coming weeks. If you're thinking of calling, we would love to welcome you, just send us a message beforehand so we can make sure we are here to welcome you. Contact Barbara on 0876965193
So this Bank Holiday weekend, whether you're out in the garden, heading away for a few days, or simply enjoying a quiet cup of tea in the evening sunshine, take a moment to appreciate the changing light and all the beauty that August brings. Summer isn't over just yet, and there's still so much to enjoy. 🌿🌸☀️
