We recently completed a wastewater tank and percolation area installation at a residential property in beautiful Howth, Co. Dublin. Operating in one of Ireland’s most picturesque coastal settings requires a neat, precise approach—balancing heavy groundwork with respect for the stunning landscape.

It was a high-tempo week for the Bluestream team! Beyond our routine maintenance—including a full pump chamber washdown in Leopardstown and tank desludging in Kilmacanogue—we were proud to support John Paul Construction on their active sites in Rosslare and Baldonnell.

⚙️ Ever wonder what actually happens inside a modern wastewater treatment system?
It is easy to forget about our wastewater systems until something goes wrong. However, modern systems like the Tricel Combi process rely on a highly engineered, automated journey to safely clean water before it ever returns to the environment.

To help break down the science, here is a quick look at the four key stages happening right beneath the surface:
1. Primary Settlement: Wastewater enters the tank, allowing solids to naturally separate and settle.
2. Biological Filtration: The water moves through specialized "BioBlok" filters while continuous air supply feeds helpful bacteria that eat away organic waste.
3. Clarification: The treated liquid undergoes a final clearing process as any remaining microscopic organic matter drops to the bottom.
4. Smart Recirculation: The system automatically cycles active organic matter back to the start to keep the purification cycle running perfectly.
The result? Clean, high-quality treated water that safely discharges back into the ground without harming the local environment.

MEET THE TEAM: Johnny Gallagher 🩵 💚

Johnny joined the Bluestream Installation Team on July 1st, 2024, and has been hitting the ground running ever since. Known across the company for his incredibly hard work ethic and a friendly, obliging attitude, Johnny brings fantastic energy to every single project.

Johnny works closely with Ger, our installation foreman, specializing in installing wastewater treatment systems and percolation areas across Leinster. From freezing winter mornings to wet summer afternoons, Johnny and the installation crew bravely work in all weather conditions throughout the year to ensure our clients' systems are flawlessly set up.

Johnny's helpful nature doesn't stop out in the yard. He always takes the time to ask the office team if they need any help with anything. His friendly and obliging disposition makes him an absolute pleasure to collaborate with for both colleagues and customers alike.

Jacek joined the Bluestream Environmental team as one of our professional tanker drivers on 11th April 2023.

Jacek is exceptionally competent and can truly turn his hand to anything! No matter what challenge or task is handed to him, he tackles it with total confidence and skill. He is always willing to step outside his normal tanker driver duties to help the team. In fact, he even put his technical talents to work by wiring up our main office for a wireless broadband extension!

Jacek is a genuinely happy, pleasant, and good-natured person. His positive energy is infectious, and he gets along very well with all of his colleagues and our valued customers

NEW ELECTRIC WINCH – BLESSINGTON RESCUE BOAT 🛶

At Bluestream Environmental, we are absolutely delighted to sponsor a brand-new Samurai electric winch for the fantastic team at the Blessington Rescue Boat

The volunteers do incredible, lifesaving work keeping everyone safe on the water year-round. When we heard they needed a new winch for their rescue vessel, we were more than happy to step in and help out.
