I've just had a marvellous morning. For the first time in months I've had the luxury of time and space dedicated to just thinking about my work. I've discarded a lot of things I'd been holding onto that I thought were important and clarified what I'm going to work on for the next few months. And more importantly how I'm going to do it.

There's still another month to go on finishing the renovation but the end is firmly in sight. I am starting to remember what peace and less stress feels like 😅

The best thing that came from my scribbles was 'Just be a *bleepin* artist. Be stupid. Talk to *bleepin* trees if you want.' There's no guarantee they'll talk back but it's worth a chance.

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday morning x

Storm - Sunday - Studio

Charcoal and newsprint plus tea and home made soup. It's all very smugly/snuggly cosy.

Hope you're all riding out somewhere warm and cosy

Here's a little before and after of what's been taking up most of my attention lately - and no it's not the dog (but he does appear again if you keep swiping).

Still don't have an actual kitchen but I'm enjoying our higgeldy piggeldy furniture combo, it's very cosy

Did a bit more work getting the studio back in order, slowly slowly catchy monkey but finally started to get a bit of spaciousness and ease back into the day.

Happy new year everyone! I've been practicing drawing a lot lately while the renovation was in full swing but the builders are gone and I'm in my brand new kitchen and I have my studio back 🎉🎉🎉

It's been nearly six months since I've been properly painting so it's going to be a while before I'm back in proper motion but in the meantime here's a wee bit of charcoal (mixed with tears from trying to do the drapery folds)

I heard a rumour.......that Aoife took the summer off and had a lovely time.....

After burning the candle at both ends for too long I took a well needed big break over the summer. When I was ready to come back to it turned out I wanted to draw and use watercolor on my sofa watching telly. So I did!!

I thought I'd be back in the studio by now but fate twists and turns, and my studio is now going to become a makeshift kitchen for the next few months as our house is being renovated.

So drawing it is for the next while, I HEAR it's very good for keeping calm while builders dismantle your house 😍👀👀😭😭😭

Just back from in Skibbereen to drop off this piece 'The Way Home' for the Members and Friends exhibition starting next Saturday 17 June.

We ate fish and chips in the rain and debated buying a druids throne at and pottered around the huge farmers market. Well worth a visit and I can't stop thinking about the druids throne 😍

Taking stock this morning of how the new work is going and it's nice to see some things nearing completion. A ton more in progress stacking up in the corners ðŸĪŠ

I think the full picture of where things are going won't be clear until I have a lot more paintings nearing the finish line in the studio and I can form some distinct groupings.

One thing I've learned is that my brain doesn't go from A to Z in a clear direction - it goes more like: A, G, fourteen, B, fryup, 4334, A, C, D, 🐐, , doors, Z

So it's always a surprise when I finally arrive at Z 😍

I went to the gym even though it's roasting........ the weather is gorgeous....... I still have some (some) gin left in the house....... And there's a bank holiday coming up

Tomorrow it'll probably rain and I'll run out of gin but for today I'll take the wins and enjoy them - hope everyone is enjoying the magical good weather ☀ïļâ˜€ïļâ˜€ïļ

FINALLY catching up with my experimental still life coursework from the generous and talented - only like 4 months behind schedule ðŸ˜ģðŸ˜ģ

Garden. Sun. Gin and tonic. Art lessons. It's alright like.

Ps Gabriella has 2 beautiful pieces accepted into the RA summer exhibition so I recommend a nosey look at her insta.
