Meet Marcos. On the roof, doing the hooks, the rails, the strings, getting every cable sorted.

Four or five months with us now and the lads have adopted him like family (even if nobody can understand each other half the time).

Before this he was an electrician's assistant, a waiter, a bit of everything. Says coming here felt like starting again.

Follow to meet the rest of the crew.

Here's exactly what happens after you sign your solar proposal.

Register your email, apply for the grant with your system size and your MPRN, and point to us as your installer. We take it from there.

You only pay the balance after the grant lands, not the full amount up front. Once you're installed we book your BER assessment and your cert follows a couple of weeks later.

Sign, register, apply, install. That's the whole thing. We handle the paperwork so you don't have to.

Comment BRIGHT and we'll walk you through it.

The Mallow Show is three full days. Three full days of just... talking to people. Properly. No emails, no comments, no calls. Actual people stood in front of you.

Lenny comes down, Rob comes down too, and honestly you can see it on them, they love it. Same as me.

We can pull up your house right there and show you almost exactly what you'd generate and save. But that's not even my favourite part.

My favourite part is people asking us everything. Fear, finance, the install, all of it. There's that much rubbish about solar online that when someone finally asks the real questions, you can see the relief on their face.

Comment BRIGHT if you want to have this chat before the show comes to you.

Can solar wipe out your standing charge and PSO levy? Here's the honest answer.

No, not as line items. They'll always be on your bill, no matter what. That's just how it's billed.

But if your solar credit covers them, it doesn't matter. Say your bill's €100, plus a €10 standing charge and €10 PSO levy, €120 total. If your solar's put you €200 in credit, that €120 is gone. Net bill: zero.

The charges don't disappear off the page. They just stop costing you anything.

Comment BRIGHT if you want to see what that could look like on your own bill.

How long does it actually take to pay a solar system back? Here's a real one.

This house was on a lower electricity usage, bill around €1,000 to €1,200 a year. We fitted the panels, and over the year the system generated more than enough to cover it — with thousands of units to spare.

System cost after the grant was about €6,000, paying itself back in 5 to 6 years. After that, it's just free electricity for the guts of two decades more.

Every house is different, usage is different, roof is different — but the maths tends to work the same way.

Comment BRIGHT and we'll run the numbers for your own home.

We get asked this all the time ''what does it actually cost to get rid of your electricity bill?''

The average Irish home is spending €1,800 to €2,500 a year on electricity. A solar system for that same house runs about €8,000 to €10,000, and it can wipe that bill out completely.

That's the system paid back in a handful of years. After that? Free electricity for the next 25.

One of our customers is already generating more than he uses and building up credit with his supplier. That's not a sales pitch, that's just what the numbers do.

Want to know what it'd look like for your own house?

Comment BRIGHT and we'll talk you through it, no pressure.

Winner takes €100. Last place takes a bucket of ice water to the face.

No prizes for guessing how competitive this got.

Future is Bright : Ep #5

Something about the way solar's been sold in Ireland has been bothering us for a long time.

You spend €6,000 to €12,000 on a system for your home, and in most cases, you've never once seen it working before you hand over the money.

So we're building a showroom. A full working system people can walk in and see live, touch the kit, ask any question they want. No pressure, no sales pitch.

It's been a proper job, the business grew while we were mid-build, floors going down, electricians in and out, the lads swapping in to keep it moving. But it's getting there.

When it's done, you're all invited in to see it for yourselves.

Follow along to watch it come together.

'Future is Bright' Episode 4

We'd been meaning to sort our billboard for months, the old one was well due a change.

Annmarie had this idea. Not the safe, professional design everyone expected. Something a bit different.

Lenny wasn't having it. Not even a little bit. Something was said about dignity.

But fair play to him, he came round. And the morning it went up, it was great crack, even if there was a small bit of panic about whether people would get the joke.

Turns out they did. Sure look, see for yourself.

Follow along for more of the day-to-day, there's always something going on.
