We were out in Fairhill, Cork City recently with the Munster Gutters team tackling a chimney that was letting water into the home — and if you've ever had a leaking chimney, you'll know it's not something you want to leave!

The lads got stuck in stripping back the old flashing, laying new lead, replacing the felt around the base of the chimney, and finishing everything off with fresh plastering to seal it up properly. Job done right, no shortcuts.

Had a look at this roof up in Sunday's Well, Cork recently and it was in a serious state. The rafters had completely lost their strength and the whole structure had warped badly over time — definitely not something you can ignore or patch up with a quick fix.

The Munster Gutters lads got stuck in and did the job properly. They stripped everything back, replaced the old rafters with solid new 4x2 timber, laid breathable felt, fitted fresh battens, and finished it off neatly with back slates. Well, the summer heat was great while it lasted — but when the heavy rain hit Midleton recently, it didn't take long for the damage to show! 🌧️

Our friends at Munster Guttering got called out to this flat roof in Shangarry Village, just outside Midleton in Cork, where water was pouring in through old, worn flashings. A really common problem after a prolonged dry spell followed by heavy downpours — the sudden change can expose every weak point in an ageing roof.

The lads got straight to work — stripping back the old flashings, lifting the affected slates, and cleaning everything up properly before laying fresh breathable felt, fitting new flashings, and reinstating the slates to leave the roof fully sealed and watertight.

Another job well done by the Munster Gutters team, this time out in Skibbereen, Kerry! 🏠

The lads completed a full gutter replacement, stripping out the old worn guttering that was well past its best and fitting brand new UPVC black deep flow half round gutters all the way around the building, along with fresh downpipes to finish it off properly. Neat, clean and built to last — exactly what you'd want.

The old guttering had deteriorated badly and, left much longer, it would have started causing some serious damage to the property. Day two of a big roof slating job here in Cork City Centre, and the Recommended Roofing team are absolutely flying through it! 🏠

The full works are underway on this one. All the old material has been stripped back, new timber laid, breathable felt fitted, new laths, and the rafters checked and sorted where needed. A new fascia board is on, and those slate beads are giving the edges a really sharp, clean finish.

The lads are also taking care of the window flashings today, which is one of those details that makes all the difference between a roof that lasts and one that gives you trouble down the line. Once that's done, it's on to the back of the roof to start the whole process again from scratch.

Scaffolding is up, the site is tidy, and standards are high every step of the way. That's the way we like it! 💪

What a transformation this was in Turner's Cross, Cork! 🏠

The Munster Gutters team were called out to tackle a serious moss problem, and when they arrived, the gutters were absolutely packed with the stuff — years of moss washing down from the roof tiles had caused a proper blockage.

The lads got stuck in straight away, scraping all the moss off the tiles by hand and cleaning out the ridge caps while they were at it. Once the surface was clear, they applied a moss killer treatment across the whole roof — painted and sprayed on — to stop the growth coming back and causing the same problem all over again.

And that's the key thing here. It's not just a clean — it's prevention. No point sorting the gutters if the moss on the roof just washes straight back down a few months later!

Great news for homeowners in and around Midleton — the Munster Gutters team just completed a brilliant gutter replacement job outside the town, and the results speak for themselves!

The old guttering had completely run its course, so the lads stripped it all back and started fresh. They fitted deep flow half round gutters across the full front of the house — nearly sixty feet in total! On a run that long, one downpipe just wouldn't cut it, so a second was added right in the middle to keep everything flowing freely and avoid any strain on the system.

Brackets were fixed every two feet along the whole length to keep the gutter sitting perfectly straight — no sagging, no bowing when the summer heat kicks in. The garage was sorted out at the same time too, so the whole property got a proper tidy finish.
