Solmatix Renewables

Solmatix Renewables Serving the UK & Ireland from our headquarters in Nutts Corner, Crumlin, Co.

Antrim, Solmatix are a leading provider of renewable energy technologies for commercial, agricultural and domestic customers. Solmatix’s entry into the now highly competitive renewable energy marketplace has proven to be timely. Reserves of fossil fuels are dwindling and ever greater emphasis is being placed upon renewable sources to combat climate change. Solmatix is hitting well above its weight

in this arena and is acting with both prudence and vision in developing strong relationships with international leaders in the fields of Solar PV, Solar water heating and Biomass Boilers, including BRE, UserHuus (Swiss) Queen’s University Belfast, and CSEM (Swiss). And as its work at South West College in County Fermanagh shows, the company is now also leading the field in the UK in its adoption of Battery Power technology to harness and store excess renewable energy form Solar PV.

Work is continuing our major solar farm project at North Down and Ards Wastewater Treatment Works.

Projects of this scale begin long before the first solar panel is installed. Site preparation, civil engineering, electrical design, logistics and close coordination between delivery partners are all critical to creating the right foundations.

Once completed, this 2.1MW-scale renewable energy project will support the generation of clean electricity onsite and contribute to the customer’s wider sustainability objectives.

It is another example of the scale, complexity and technical capability Solmatix brings to commercial and public sector renewable energy projects across the UK and Ireland.

Thank you to our team and project partners for their continued commitment to safe and effective delivery.

From milking equipment and refrigeration to ventilation, lighting and general farm operations, agriculture can involve significant daytime electricity demand.

That can make onsite renewable energy an important consideration for farms and agricultural businesses seeking greater control over operating costs. Depending on the site and consumption profile, a tailored system could include:

👉Rooftop or ground-mounted solar PV

👉Battery storage

👉EV or electric fleet charging

👉Energy monitoring and system controls

Ongoing servicing and technical support Solmatix work with agricultural customers to assess available space, electricity demand and existing infrastructure before developing the right technical solution

No two farms are the same. Your renewable energy system should reflect how your operation works.

For businesses, investing in solar is not simply an environmental decision. It is a strategic business decision.

A correctly specified commercial solar PV system may help an organisation:
🔸Generate electricity onsite
🔸Reduce exposure to changing energy costs
🔸Lower operational carbon emissions
🔸Strengthen sustainability reporting
🔸Make productive use of available roof or land space
🔸Create opportunities to integrate battery storage and EV charging.

The strongest projects begin with a clear understanding of how and when the business uses electricity.

Solmatix provides support from initial site assessment and system design through to installation, commissioning, monitoring and aftercare.

If renewable energy is part of your 2027 investment plan, now is the time to start assessing the opportunity.

Whether you're running a business, managing a farm or looking at household energy costs, Solar PV can help you take greater control of your energy use, and there is currently significant SEAI grant support available across Ireland.

Support includes:

☀️ Up to €162,600 towards eligible Solar PV installations for businesses, farms, schools, community organisations and public bodies

☀️ Up to €1,800 towards an eligible domestic Solar PV system

Importantly, Solmatix is SEAI accredited, meaning eligible customers can choose Team Solmatix for installations being supported through SEAI grant funding.

It's a question that comes up regularly when we're speaking to customers in Ireland, and we understand that navigating grants, eligibility and the installation process can sometimes feel complicated.

That's why our involvement goes much further than simply installing the panels.

Our experienced team can help you understand the grant support available, assess your property's energy requirements, develop the right system specification and guide you through the process ahead of installation.

We've already delivered renewable energy systems for a growing number of businesses and homeowners across Ireland, with every system designed around the individual property, its energy consumption and longer-term goals.

From initial assessment and grant guidance through to system design, installation and ongoing support, Team Solmatix will support you throughout the entire process.

Grant approval must be secured before installation work begins and eligibility criteria apply, so if Solar is something you've been considering, it's worth having the conversation early.

Explore the available support through SEAI or speak to Team Solmatix about what Solar could deliver for your business, farm or home.

Myth: Solar panels only work when it is hot.

Fact: Solar PV panels generate electricity from daylight, not heat.

That means they can continue producing renewable electricity throughout the year, including on cooler and cloudy days. Longer summer daylight hours can increase generation, but a properly designed system is intended to perform across the seasons.

The important factors include:
• Available daylight
• Roof orientation and available space
• Potential shading
• Household electricity consumption
• Whether battery storage is included
• The design and specification of the system

At Solmatix, we assess these factors before recommending a system, helping each customer understand what solar could realistically deliver for their property.

Discover what your home could generate by speaking to our team.

You generate solar electricity during the day, but what happens when you do not use all of it immediately?

Without battery storage, surplus electricity may be exported to the grid. With the right battery system, more of that energy can be stored and used later, including during the evening when household or business demand may be higher.

A combined solar and battery system can help you:

- Use more of the electricity you generate
- Reduce your reliance on grid electricity
- Access stored solar energy outside daylight hours
- Manage your energy more effectively
- Take greater control of future electricity costs.

Every property and pattern of electricity use is different. That is why Solmatix assesses the site, consumption profile and long-term objectives before recommending a system.

This month, we're shining the spotlight on Archie Nield, one of our Electricians here at Team Solmatix.

Archie brings seven years of experience across commercial, industrial and domestic electrical projects, helping to deliver the high-quality workmanship our customers have come to expect.

Many of you will already know Ruben, our Business Development Manager. Archie is Ruben's brother, making them another family connection within Team Solmatix and a great example of the close-knit culture we're proud to have.

One of the highlights of Archie's career before joining Solmatix was working at the iconic DeLorean factory, and since becoming part of the team, he's been involved in a wide range of renewable energy projects across the UK and Ireland.

When he's not at work, Archie has a rather unusual talent... he can ride a unicycle! 🚴

It's been great to have Archie as part of Team Solmatix, and we look forward to seeing his career continue to grow with us.

One of the biggest signs of trust in the renewables sector is when clients continue to evolve their energy strategy alongside you over time.

At Solmatix, many of our projects don’t end after the initial installation.

As businesses grow, operational demands change and energy priorities evolve, we’re increasingly working with clients on system expansions, battery integration and longer-term energy planning.

That continued relationship is something we place huge value on.

Renewable energy infrastructure is a long-term investment and understanding how a client operates over time can make a significant difference when planning future phases, upgrades and improvements.

It’s one of the reasons repeat business continues to form such a major part of what Team Solmatix does.

More homeowners are now looking beyond simply installing Solar panels, and they’re thinking about how their homes will use energy over the next 10–15 years.

Team Solmatix recently completed a residential Solar PV and battery storage installation at Chilcomb Court, designed to support long-term energy efficiency, improved self-consumption and future EV charging capability.

The installation included:

🔹 24 x LONGi Solar 485W panels

🔹 Solis Hybrid Inverter

🔹 Integrated battery storage solution

🔹 EV charging compatibility

🔹 Remote monitoring functionality

By combining Solar PV with hybrid battery storage technology, the system allows the homeowner to make greater use of the energy generated onsite while reducing reliance on imported grid electricity.

We’re seeing more homeowners take this longer-term approach to energy planning, particularly as electricity costs, EV adoption and energy usage requirements continue to evolve.

With Solmatix’s 0% finance option available, renewable energy solutions are becoming more accessible for homeowners looking to invest in long-term savings and energy independence without the need for large upfront costs.

A fantastic project showcasing how Solar, battery storage and future-ready infrastructure can work together as part of one integrated home energy solution.
