Published today, the online article sees Solmatix tackle some of the most common myths surrounding solar energy and set out the reality of how far the technology has come in recent years.

From whether solar works in Northern Ireland’s climate, to questions around cost, battery storage, roof suitability and long-term performance, the piece addresses some of the most frequent concerns we hear from homeowners and businesses considering renewable energy.

As Northern Ireland’s longest-established solar specialist and a family business approaching 20 years in operation, we’ve seen the market evolve first-hand and have played a key role in shaping the local solar industry along the way.

Solar is no longer a niche technology. It is a practical, proven solution for organisations and homeowners looking to reduce energy costs, improve sustainability and take greater control of their energy future.

Another Step Forward in Solmatix UK Growth Journey

As energy costs continue to challenge organisations across the UK, access to trusted renewable energy solutions has never been more important.

That's why we're pleased to have been appointed to the West Mercia Energy Supply and Installation of Solar PV, a procurement vehicle with a potential value of £8 million.

The framework has been established to help public sector organisations access experienced, pre-qualified solar PV contractors, creating a streamlined route to delivering renewable energy projects that reduce costs, lower carbon emissions, and improve long-term energy resilience.

For Solmatix, this appointment provides another opportunity to support schools, healthcare providers, local authorities, and public sector organisations in taking greater control of their energy future.

Over the past number of years, we've delivered solar projects across a diverse range of sectors, helping organisations generate their own electricity, reduce reliance on volatile energy markets, and accelerate their progress towards net zero goals.

As demand for renewable energy continues to grow, we're looking forward to working with more organisations across Great Britain and helping turn sustainability ambitions into practical, measurable outcomes.

A huge well done to our Operations Director Richard Bartlett, who completed the Macmillan Mighty Hike at the Giant’s Causeway over the weekend alongside friends in support of a fantastic cause.

Taking on a 25.2-mile route around the North Coast in glorious weather, Richard and the team raised vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, helping the charity continue its incredible work supporting people living with cancer and their families.

We’re proud to see Richard take on such a challenge for a cause that means so much to so many.

Today marks the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year and a reminder of just how much energy the sun provides every single day.

For us, it’s also a reflection of how far Solar technology has come. What was once seen as an “alternative” energy source is now playing a major role in how homes, businesses, schools and public-sector buildings manage energy, reduce costs and work towards long-term sustainability goals.

Across the UK and Ireland, Team Solmatix is helping more customers harness that energy through Solar PV and battery storage systems designed for long-term performance and reliability.

On the longest, brightest day of the year, there’s no better reminder of the potential sitting right above us.

A great afternoon at the NI Chamber Annual Lunch, connecting with business leaders from across Northern Ireland and taking time to reflect on the opportunities ahead for our economy.

It was particularly interesting to hear from Rachel Duffy, whose honest and engaging insights into entrepreneurship, resilience and leadership resonated with many in the room. Her journey from building a successful career in communications to becoming the first female winner of the BBC's The Traitors was a powerful reminder of the importance of determination, adaptability and backing yourself when it matters most.

Events like these provide valuable opportunities to strengthen relationships, share ideas and learn from the experiences of others across Northern Ireland's business community.

Thank you to NI Chamber for another excellent event.

We're delighted to announce our new strategic partnership with Turkington Windows.
As demand for renewable energy solutions continues to grow, this collaboration brings together two trusted Northern Ireland businesses with a shared commitment to quality, customer service and long-term value.
Through the partnership, homeowners will be able to access expert solar PV solutions delivered by the Solmatix team, alongside the trusted home improvement services that Turkington Windows has been providing for decades.
At Solmatix, we've always believed that making the transition to renewable energy should be straightforward, professional and fully supported from consultation through to installation and aftercare.
By working together, we can help even more homeowners reduce energy costs, improve energy efficiency and take greater control of their energy future.
We look forward to supporting customers across Northern Ireland and beyond as we begin this exciting new chapter.

We are delighted to announce a new strategic partnership with renewable energy specialist Solmatix, allowing customers to access trusted solar energy solutions as part of a broader home improvement offering from June 2026.

The partnership was initiated by Turkington Windows as part of its ongoing commitment to providing customers with smarter, more energy-efficient solutions for the modern home. Through the collaboration, customers will now be able to access solar PV installation services delivered by the Solmatix team, including installation, servicing, maintenance and aftercare support.
The agreement brings together two established Northern Ireland businesses with a shared focus on quality, customer experience and long-term value for homeowners.

Together, the partnership is expected to support thousands of existing and future customers across Northern Ireland and beyond as demand for renewable energy and integrated home improvement solutions continues to grow.

Gary Turkington, Operations Director at Turkington Windows, said: “Our customers are increasingly looking for ways to improve energy efficiency and futureproof their homes, so expanding our offering into renewable energy solutions was a very natural next step for us.
“From the outset, Solmatix stood out as the right partner. They have built an excellent reputation within the renewable energy sector and share our approach to customer service, quality and professionalism.

“This partnership allows us to provide homeowners with access to trusted solar solutions through a company they already know and trust, while ensuring every installation and support service is delivered by experienced specialists.”

Speaking on the perfect synergy between the two companies, Neville Bell, Managing Director of Solmatix, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Turkington Windows, a company that has built a very strong reputation and customer base over many years.
“There is a clear alignment between both businesses in terms of quality, trust and customer care.

By working together, we can help more homeowners access renewable energy solutions through a seamless and professional service experience.
“As demand continues to grow, the partnership is also expected to support additional job creation across installation, technical support and customer service functions.”
Both companies have confirmed the agreement is a strategic partnership, with each business continuing to operate independently while collaborating to enhance customer offering and service delivery.

The partnership reflects growing demand from homeowners for integrated energy-efficient home improvement solutions, particularly as consumers continue to seek ways to reduce energy costs and improve sustainability.

Further customer information and service details will be announced in the coming weeks ahead of the partnership launch in June 2026.

A good Solar installation shouldn’t just perform well technically. It should feel straightforward for the customer too.

That’s something we’re really proud to hear reflected in feedback from Indicators International following the completion of their Solar PV installation.

“Solmatix made the entire solar panel installation process seamless and straightforward. From start to finish, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient.”

As Solar becomes a bigger part of long-term business planning, the experience around the project matters just as much as the system itself.

From design and technical advice through to installation, commissioning and aftercare, our goal is always to make the process clear, well-managed and easy for the client to navigate.

Because good communication and trust are just as important as generation figures.

Thank you to Sean O’Loughlin and the team at Indicators International for the kind words and for choosing Team Solmatix.

This week, Natalee Ali represented Team Solmatix at the SCAPE Regional Construction Works & Services Framework Market Engagement Event.

Bringing together major contractors, specialist subcontractors and supply chain partners, the event provided valuable insight into what is expected to be a significant £1.2bn public sector framework opportunity over the next four years.

One message came through loud and clear.

Renewable energy is no longer being viewed as a standalone addition to projects. Solar PV, battery storage, EV charging infrastructure and wider Net Zero initiatives are becoming integral parts of the conversation from the earliest stages of planning and procurement.

Another key theme was collaboration.

SCAPE placed a strong emphasis on building relationships across the supply chain, recognising that successful project delivery depends on contractors and specialist partners working together to create long-term value for communities.

For Team Solmatix, events like this are about more than networking. They allow us to understand where the industry is heading, strengthen relationships and ensure we're well positioned to support future public sector decarbonisation projects.

A great event, with plenty of opportunities for the future.
