DFK Engineers were proud to provide civil engineering services as part of the wider project team on the recent 12,000m² GAA pitch resurfacing St Brigids GAA Club in Blanchardstown. Delivered by PST Sport this state-of-the-art facility features the Pride 60 artificial grass system installed over a high-performance 12mm shockpad, independently tested to meet GAA standards. The result is a premium playing surface offering exceptional performance, safety, and durability for club members of all ages throughout the year. DFK Engineers were delighted to collaborate with PST Sport and the wider team in delivering another high-quality sporting facility for the local community.

Works are ongoing at the Apex Hub, a major logistics development in Ballymount, Dublin 12, where DFK Consulting Engineers is providing full civil and structural engineering services. Our scope includes road infrastructure, underground utilities, and integrated Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), including green roofs, bioretention areas, and infiltration systems—ensuring long-term resilience and compliance. A pleasure to spend the morning yesterday with the team at Midland Steel Reinforcement Supplies, gaining valuable insights into their patented MS “FasterFix” Modular Reinforcement Systems solutions at their innovative operations and facility at the Portlaoise Smart Factory. We learned how FasterFix saves the following on construction projects:
75% faster rebar programme times
80% less labour required on site
30% reduction in project prelim costs
12.6% reduction in embodied carbon
0% Waste
Safer Sites with no manual handling or loose bars.

We are pleased to announce the successful handover of a premium office development situated at the entrance of Loughrea Shopping Centre, Athenry Road, Loughrea, Co. Galway. Spanning 415 sq meters, the building features a split-level design across single and two storeys, carefully tailored to align with the local landscape and retail park entrance. Constructed to the highest standards, it showcases a superior façade and cladding, expertly completed by O’Rourke & Sons Contractors.

Doherty Finegan Kelly acted as the lead consultants during the construction, managing all BCAR responsibilities, including Assigned Certifier, Fire & DAC consultancy, PSDP, and Civil & Structural services.
