Our MEP department work closely with the BIM department delivering the highest-level quality projects through embracing collaborative and innovative technical solutions with experience in LEED & BIM. Using the best, proven new technologies is a key facet of the business and is essential to producing the best projects, on time and in budget. This year’s theme for World Quality Week 2024 is “From Compliance to Performance”. At Collen, we are highlighting the importance of quality management in today’s fast-paced environment. We aim to go beyond meeting standards, focusing on driving higher performance through proactive quality practices.

As we conclude the Construction Industry Federation (CIF)'s Construction Safety Campaign, Collen extends sincere thanks to our staff, project teams, and subcontractors for their commitment and active engagement over the past two weeks. Their ongoing dedication to fostering a culture of safety has been essential to the campaign’s success.

With the 2024 theme, “Focus on Critical Risks,” Collen’s Occupational Health & Safety Management System reinforces adherence to safety protocols, ensuring that our workforce is well-informed of critical risks at every stage of a project. This campaign has provided a valuable opportunity to reaffirm that, at Collen, safety always comes first.

As part of the Construction Industry Federation (CIF)'s Annual Safety Campaign, Collen held a number of safety initiatives last week. The week began with a focus on heart health and CPR training. On Tuesday, the sites conducted blind spot and MEWP rescue demonstrations, which provided valuable safety insights.

Our teams engaged in Arc Flash PPE Safety Awareness Training and a medical emergency response demonstration. Thursday’s sessions included a Take 5 with Shane Lyons from GNS Fitness, as well as training on safe lifting, lithium-ion battery safety, and confined space rescue demonstrations.

On Friday, the site teams participated in a Stretch and Flex session, a Stop the Drop presentation, and an SPA workshop. Collen remains committed to maintaining a safe working environment for all.

Last Friday, 11th October, Collen was the proud recipient of three awards at the 33rd Annual Occupational Safety Awards. Collen’s Safety Representative, Derek Russell, was announced the joint winner of the NISO Safety Representative of the Year Award.

Collen also received the Higher Distinction Award and the Consistent High Achiever Award, acknowledging our commitment to outstanding safety performance across all our sites in Ireland, the UK, and Europe.

These achievements are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire Collen team and our supply chain partners. We are grateful to NISO for this recognition and we remain more motivated than ever to uphold our commitment to safety excellence.

The Construction Industry Federation (CIF)’s Construction Safety Campaign will run from 14th to 25th October. This national awareness campaign is designed to promote a strong culture of safety and health among Ireland's construction workers, clients, and industry stakeholders. We are proud to continue our pivotal role as a Silver sponsor alongside the CIF for this important initiative.

The theme for Construction Safety Campaign 2024 is "Focus on Critical Risks".
