I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Glen Hansard while working the door at Whelan's Bar. He was a true gentleman—full of love, laughter, humility, and wisdom. The kind of person who made everyone around him feel welcome.
Christmas Eve was always a special night. Not just because of Grafton Street, but because of the magic that continued back in Whelan’s. One memory that will always stay with me is watching Glen spot a busker playing the trumpet on the street, take him by the arm, and march him straight into Burkes to join the sing-song. That’s the kind of man he was—always lifting others up and creating unforgettable moments.
A true legend who will be deeply missed by so many.
Rest in peace. ❤️
