This is a wasp nest in a local school that was treated on Friday. As you can see ,the wasps became very aggressive when the insecticide was applied to the entrance of the nest. I would urge anyone that has or suspects that they may have a wasp nest in their home, shed or anywhere else not to try and treat the nest yourselves as the wasps will attack you. Always call a professionally trained pest control technician who will safely treat and/or remove the nest where possible.

Hi folks, I've been getting a lot of callouts for wasps lately, an issuse I've no problem in dealing with. However, when I get to a lot of the wasp callouts I'm finding that it's actually honey bees that are the issue, with most calls being for a swarm that has landed on an alarm box,a tree in a garden or on a chimney stack. These swarms are literally just resting as they've been flying for a while, looking for a place to start a hive and will normally just fly off when they are rested. Most people don't know the difference between wasps and honey bees so I've attached a picture of both. Honey bees have different markings than wasps. They have dark yellow and black stripes and have a fuzzy type of upper body. Wasps have bright yellow and black stripes, with a v shaped kink in the yellow stripe. If you think that you have a wasp nest then please refer to the pictures below to help to determine the species. Honey bees are protected and will only be treated if they are a danger to public health and safety, otherwise I would recommend calling a registered bee keeper to remove the hive.

Following on from the last post, this is where the rat burrowed from the chamber to the surface where it was seen running around the carpark. Recommendations to seal the hole around the pipe with cement were never made. Amateur hour from start to finish. Dublin Pest Services are now in the process of getting a flap customised to fit the line and having all proofing issues completed. Needless to say but the so-called "leading pest control company" no longer service the site.

This is a rat flap that was installed by one of Irelands so-called "leading pest control companies". It's a 4 inch flap that was installed forced into a 3.5 inch line. The flap was installed with the flap open to allow it to fit, letting rats access the chamber and burrow to the surface. More pictures to follow.

A domestic customer had been having rat issues on and off for a number of years and got numerous pest control companies in to solve the issue which they all tried to do with traps and poison, never bothering to check the main drain chamber, at least according to the customer. On inspection of the chamber it was very clear how the rats had been getting into the house. A hole had been gnawed through the waste pipe allowing easy rodent access to the property. Wire mesh on the pipe and the installation of a 6 inch rat flap in the main line and guess what? No more rats. If the chamber had been checked to begin with it would have saved the customer hundreds of euros and spared them from countless sleepless nights.
