We all sit around the table as a stream of drinks flows, and we break bread together. The tongue having been loosened, we now share stories of old or cordial jokes between each other as friends. Memories. Memories formed in the presence of friends are the sweetest and most invaluable experiences.

Last weekend the Baltic team headed to Barcelona for a team bonding experience. We have always been proud of our team with us knowing many of them since our very first large-scale drylining project in UCD with JJ Rhatigan & Co. Our team has grown since then, with many more exceptional people joining us over the years. This is only a small subsection of the dedicated and amazing people we have the fortune to work with here. The trip was just a small token of appreciation for those who have stuck with us for so long.

Life is too short and oftentimes spent a great deal at work. There are many ways to quantify success at a firm, be it financial or impact. One of the larger measures for us is our company's culture and people. We strive that people look forward to coming in to work with a friendly and welcoming environment filled with good spirits and jests. We know ourselves that we are succeeding when, even through stressful times, a good ambience is retained and our team is still able to find time to laugh.

Companies are made of people. A company without people is nothing really but an empty husk. We would once more like to thank everyone from the site labourers to our project managers from the bottom of our hearts. Baltic Group would be nothing without your positivity, experience and professionalism. Thank you all for sticking with us through thick and thin.

We here at Baltic will always value and respect people as one of our core tenets. We are all different, but together we will reach high and touch the sky.

It has been an exciting time helping to provide for the growing surge in demand for industrial units in Ireland. Working on the cutting edge in both design and sustainability for industrial units, we have worked for Park Development creating units that meet the LEED Gold and EU Taxonomy standard. We have been refining our processes and pushing the standards in North West Logistics Park consistently since 2019. We are proud to be deeply involved in this push for modern and sustainable industrial units throughout Dublin.

Jumping into Women in Construction Week 2024!

Is there anything better than warming up by a great fire while the rain taps softly against the glass window? The hot chocolate warms your hands as you chat with those you find close, and it seems for a moment that all the world's worries melt away as we are all able to share a laugh and reflect on the year past. The year has been full of wonderful memories that we now sit by the fire and remember fondly.

We wish to thank everyone who has been part of our journey and wish them a wonderful holiday season. This amazing year is only possible with the effort of the same exceptional people we share our lives with. We hope that the next Christmas season we can once again sit by the fireplace and share even more wonderful stories together.

Gintas Kerge, founder and CEO of Baltic Group, was delighted to receive an invitation to meet Marijus Gudynas, the current Lithuanian Ambassador to Ireland. This meeting was conducted by the Vilnius Chambers of Commerce and was attended by delegates from Lithuanian Contractors and Manufacturers who are lunging at the possibilities in the Irish construction sector. Gintas was able to share his 20 years of knowledge and experience in Ireland with the Ambassador and attending experts. Gintas has always been interested in international cooperation as it provides a gateway to solving important domestic issues.Where before in the past he had always focused his attention on these isles, he now looks towards the wider world for new perspectives to push Baltic Group to evolve. New ideas being brought to the table are always important, but finding the means by which to cooperate is oftentimes difficult. Baltic, in its aim to evolve, is always open to helping achieve this international goal and is always seeking new contacts to broaden our abilities as a company and encourage dialogue with our faraway friends. Gintas has received an invitation to address the Vilnius Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania and is looking forward to advising and assisting in a role that provides a plethora of opportunities for any Irish and Lithuanian companies.

Sustainability and innovation is at the core of what makes a successful business, be it from making sure one can always be ahead of the curve with exploring the fascinating breakthroughs in the industry or making sure one's actions are ecologically supportive, making sure to aim for sustainable growth. This search leads us far and wide from local community initiatives to international expertise. We are always on the lookout for new opportunities, ever vigilant on the latest of modern construction methods. This year has brought us to Munich Germany to the BAU construction expo of 2023 with interesting displays and samples of a greener and more sustainable construction industry.

Our team is always ready to meet any challenge head on with due diligence but we are mindful to keep on the lookout for what opportunities there are to become more competitive and cost efficient. In this we came searching for new equipment to help further our goals in becoming a more carbon friendly company, able to achieve even better success on LEED and BREEAM projects. In the search for future investment we have explored equipment for the production of more intricate plasterboard details with German manufacturers. The experts in our team always view each new idea with a critical eye but even with their usual sternness were immensely impressed with the clear benefits that can be brought to the table and the potential for the huge impact on our carbon footprint. We are always impressed by what international innovation can bring.

In this search for methods to adapt to ever changing conditions and the desire for sustainability one can't forget that the most important aspect for a business is the individuals that make it up. We here at Baltic never forget that without the commitment of the people throughout the company from the team leads to the office staff nothing would be possible. Sustainability means more than just the pure environment of the world but the environment you build on site and in the company as a whole. A sustainable business is one that cares for the environment and also the people around us. We thank everyone at Baltic and anyone who we will work with at trying to achieve this goal.

Many congratulations to Roy Keane on purchasing this luxurious apartment in the foreign capital city of Dublin (Outside Cork).

Our involvement spans back to completing the initial marketing suite of Lansdowne Place in 2016 while Roy was still involved with the Irish management team.

The former Ireland and Manchester United captain and his wife agreed a deal for the Dublin 4 property just before Christmas

We at Baltic are proud to announce that we are receiving a new contract by Walls Construction for the site of Churchview Road. We are happy and thankful for their continued trust in us. Baltic deeply values our years-long business relationship spanning all the way back to 2017. This Park Development Project is located in the west of Killiney Hill, set against mature trees and a lovely village impression making it a coveted site for development. The site consists of two U-Shaped blocks that will total 230 apartments. Baltics main area of participation in this project will be that of the internal drywall, various partitions, ceilings, drylining, airtightness, and all associated plastering finishes including insulated render systems to the PC walls to basement stair cores. There will also be additional works alongside the apartments for amenity and childcare facilities. We are excited to once again be working on new modern apartments and expect to begin work at the end of January 2023.

When evaluating a site, it's always interesting for us to look back at the historical context of the local area of where the site is located. It is often that there is not much information available or that there is not much known to begin with. This is different for the churchview road development since it is close to Kiliney and Killiney hill. This small village provides a small but nonetheless fascinating historical context to the site that will be developed. The town of Killiney itself grew around the local church in the 11th century with the name of the village itself being an English adaptation of the Irish Cill Iníon Léinín. The village had interesting occurrences throughout its long time, with photographs being produced of fake battles for the war of independence being produced at Killiney and the torching of RIC Barracks at Ballybrack, including many individuals and houses from Killiney. The civil war also took its toll there, with attacks between treaty and anti-treaty forces taking place in the village. The depth of history available for this village is nothing but outstanding and provides the area being developed a part of its interesting history. Its history has many interesting occurrences and individuals, but some modern interest stems from the hill itself, with obelisks being situated on it, and the wishing stone. The area had a long past of ownership, with the obelisk being made by Colonel John Malpas. The well-known obelisk has the phrase “a year of scarcity and hardship, when fever and famine devastated Ireland. Last year being hard with the poor, the wall around these hills and this were erected by John Mapas, Esq. June, 174” on a plaque on the obelisk. Looking back towards the past is always as important as looking towards the future and looking through this timeline of Killiney provided us with appreciation for the site that we will soon begin our own works.

The year once more comes to an end, and in doing so, there is much to reflect on. We here at Baltic are proud to remember the projects, clients, suppliers and crews we had the fortune to work with. We are forever thankful to Ballymore, Park Development, Walls, Lioncor and all others for their trust in us. It had been an amazing experience that would not have been possible without everyone's dedication. This has been a long road for us as a group, and we still sometimes can't believe how far we have come. This year marks the 15th anniversary of Baltic's existence, and as such, we wished to do something extra special.

This year we have given out wreaths to those who helped make this journey possible and who opened doors to these possibilities. It is hard for us to look only at our past while reflecting because, looking at the future, it seems full of possibility. We hope to give out wreaths in the future to help decorate new doors as a way to thank them for their trust in us. There are many doors yet to be built, though, and we hope that we can be there to help create those doors for others.

In doing this, we wish to thank those who trusted in the Baltic and give back to local communities and the vulnerable. The wreaths and hampers were provided by the charity Festina Lente, and we hope our contributions help fund their services. We are also happy in our reflections to remember the community projects Baltic donated to: the local Dunboyne PlaySpace Forum, the Kilcullen GAA Field of Dreams Project, and the Boardsmill GAA fundraiser. We also reflect on doing our small part in both the Malahide Miracle fundraiser and the Creeslough Community Support Fund. We are also happy to show our support for protecting Ireland's vulnerable and aiding in the fight against the ever-growing homelessness issue by donating to Focus Ireland. Baltic is forever proud of giving back to communities and those who need it the most.

We hope everyone, from our clients to our amazing team to anyone reading this, has a safe and wonderful Christmas and New Year. We hope to see you again in the future.
