How it started vs. how it’s going ✨

From a roofless cottage to a beautifully restored home full of character, this project celebrates the charm of the original stonework while introducing warm timber beams and a carefully designed modern extension.

The design brings together the existing cottage and farmshed, creating a seamless connection between old and new — preserving the story of the building while giving it a new life.

📢 Welcome to the team Caimin! ✨

Since graduating with a master’s in architecture from Arkitektskolen Aarhus, Denmark, Caimin has gained several years’ experience in award winning studios in Dublin, with an emphasis on domestic and residential architecture.

A Galway native, Caimin completed his bachelor’s degree in University College Cork, and following his return from Denmark has been an RIAI Registered architect since 2024.

Most recently he has completed the RIAI Conservation Grade 3 qualification, which reinforces his interest and passion in historic and heritage structures. 📢 Welcome to the team, Caimin!

From Galway to Denmark and back again, Caimin brings a wealth of experience in residential architecture, shaped by time in award-winning Dublin studios.

A graduate of University College Cork and Arkitektskolen Aarhus, he’s been a registered RIAI Architect since 2024 and has recently achieved his Conservation Grade 3 qualification — reflecting a strong passion for heritage and historic buildings.

An Eventful Week for the PHE Team ✨

From business networking to abseiling, leadership inspiration and team reflection — it has been a busy one for PHE!

📍 Monday: Tara attended an SFA Business Event.

🧗 Wednesday: Mia, Dermot & Daire abseiled Bonham Quay in aid of COPE Galway, raising over €2,000 for an amazing local cause.

🏆 Padraic & Nikki attended the AIBF Entrepreneurs Summit in Croke Park and even got to hold the Liam McCarthy and Sam Maguire Cups.

💬 Friday: The team wrapped up the week with a check-in session with Shane Pearson of Design Your Life Coaching.

A brilliant reminder of what PHE is all about: people, community, growth and showing up together. Building. Better. People.

Tara attended a great morning of conversation, learning and connection with the Small Firms Association, focused on People, Process & Progress: Practical Strategies for Galway’s Ambitious Businesses.

She noted it was brilliant to hear from Joe O’Reilly, John O’Shanahan, Heather Connolly and Paul Glynn, who shared practical insights on people, process, growth and continuous improvement.

Always valuable to take time out, meet other local businesses, and bring fresh ideas back to the team.

Team PHE marked National Workplace Wellbeing Day with a team breakfast morning 🥐☕️, bringing the team together both in the office and remotely via Teams 💻. It was a simple but meaningful way to connect, check in, and start the day as one team.

We also recently completed another inspiring session with Shane Pearson from Design your Life Coaching. Our team and Shane have been collaborating for over a year now and it is more and more evident the benefits each individual gets after each session. 🌱💡

At PHE, workplace wellbeing isn’t just something that comes from the top down. It’s built day-to-day by our people 👥. It’s in the support we show each other through the good and the bad, the highs and the lows. That culture of looking out for one another is what truly defines our workplace. ❤️

We’re also proud that our commitment to Wellbeing has been recognised on a National level, having been named a finalist in the Workplace Wellbeing Category at the 2026 Small Firms Association Awards and in 2 category's in the 2026 Irish Building & Design Awards, Best Company to Work for and Team of the Year both which we are extremely proud of as a team. 👏
