Reconvened - there will be an information evening on Thursday 1st February at 8:30 in Ballinderreen Community Centre with a team of experts in the area of reducing energy usage. Energy costs are of interest to everyone so if you are a homeowner, business or community group in Ballinderreen or the surrounding area, this will be of interest.

Due to the sub zero temperatures forecasted for tonight, we unfortunately have to cancel our SEAI programme for tonight. Speakers were due to travel from West Mayo and South Tipperary and the likelihood of unfavourable road conditions means that the talk tonight cannot go head, for reasons of road safety. Apologies for the short notice. We will reschedule as soon as possible.

are looking for an Solar PV Installer/Electrician to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be based in the Galway region, someone who is dependable, has good problem solving skills, is able to work independently and takes pride in their work.

Job Duties:
Wiring and installing a range of EV Chargers .
Wiring and installing a range of PV and battery systems.
Run tests on electrical components to ensure a safe and effective installation
Inspect electrical systems and equipment for any damage, malfunctions, and safety hazards
Provide professional assessments and advice for customers
Adhering to the SEAI Domestic Solar photovoltaic code of practice for installers.
Providing photo's and sign off for administration team to process grants.
Completing commissioning sheets for a range of electrical items

The Essential Candidate:
Have a good work ethic and good client interaction skills.
Comfortable with working on roofs
Safe pass, manual handling certs
Health & Safety Focused
Full Drivers Licence
QC number

Desired:
National Craft Certificate Electrical
5 years’ experience working as an electrician
Work at heights

The Minister for Transport, Eamon Ryan has today launched Zero Emission Vehicles Ireland. This new office will play an important role in Ireland’s transition to zero emission vehicles. Today’s announcement also brings some new grant initiatives.

The new initiatives include:
· The EV Apartment Charging grant for dwellings which do not have access to a driveway such as apartments, duplexes and mixed.

· The EV Home Charger grant which has been expanded to allow any homeowner to apply for a grant to install a charger in advance of purchasing an electric vehicle or for visitor use.

· The EV Smart Charger Register will improve safety, prevent excessive demand and facilitate integration with renewable energy sources. The Home Charger scheme will only provide funding for Smart Chargers.

· A new EV Commercial Fleet Trial will promote and encourage electrification of the commercial fleet in Ireland. This trial will allow businesses the opportunity to test an EV free of charge for a minimum period of three months.
