SR 21 Certified New material size 20/50mm, a crushed limestone gravel aggregate. This product is having a porosity test done on 505b specification.

Now for the science bit!
A porosity test is performed on aggregates, including aggregates meeting the 505b standard, to understand how much water it absorbs and its overall density.
This information is critical for us as aggregate producers to know because a porous aggregate, containing more voids that absorb water, will affect the overall mixture's properties, influencing workability, strength, and durability of the final concrete or asphalt product.

Proper evaluation ensures the aggregate's suitability for the construction project and prevents issues like reduced structural integrity or premature wear!

An example of product use for 505b aggregate under SR 21 European standard would bew for unbound and hydraulically bound materials for use in civil engineering work and road construction hence the necessity for testing and certification. 📖 📚

It is with sadness today we remember Joe Joyce, Inis Óirr, who sadly died during the week.
Joe spent time working with us in KSG shortly before the recession, he worked in various projects we were constructing in the local and tuam areas.

We pray for his family and friends at this very sad time.
