As gold sponsors of the Construction Industry Federation (CIF) Construction Safety Campaign (12th to 23rd October), we are going back to basics.

Construction is a complex industry but keeping people safe often comes down to getting the basics right, every time. In this video, Fiona McGarry, one of our Health & Safety Advisors shares what her role means to her.

From inductions for new starters to the daily whiteboard meeting with our supervisors, it all comes back to one thing: everyone who comes to work goes home the same way they arrived.

Her message is simple. Safety is about speaking up and building a culture where everyone feels comfortable doing so, whatever their role or experience.

125 team members are lacing up their boots and taking on the 4 Peaks across the country: Diamond Hill, Sugar Loaf, Croagh Patrick and Carrauntoohil.

Together, we've already raised over €70,000 for The Sunflower Children's Hospice helping bring Ireland's first children's hospice outside Dublin to Castlebar, Co. Mayo.

𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝘂𝗯 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀

We are delighted to celebrate the official opening of the new HSE Surgical Hub in Cork, opened this week by the Taoiseach, Micheál Martin TD, and Minister for Health, Jennifer Carroll MacNeill TD.

Part of the national elective care network, this state-of-the-art facility will deliver thousands of day-case procedures, minor operations and outpatient consultations every year for the South West Health Region. The hub is designed so patients move seamlessly from registration to pre-admission, theatre and recovery, and are discharged home the same day, helping to reduce waiting times and improve access to care.

Cork is one of three Surgical Hubs JJ Rhatigan is delivering for the HSE, alongside Limerick and Waterford.

The project was delivered by a highly collaborative design team including AECOM as Employer's Representative, O'Connell Mahon Architects (OCMA) as Architects, Arup as Civil & Structural and Mechanical & Electrical Engineers, and Maurice Johnson & Partners as Fire Consultants.

Thank you to the HSE, and well done to Eamonn Hasset, Damian Clifford, the project team and everyone at JJ Rhatigan who helped bring this landmark healthcare project to completion.

This is why we're supporting Sunflower Children's Hospice.

This week, we welcomed Martina Jennings, CEO, and Audrey Duffy, Corporate Partnerships Officer, from The Sunflower Children's Hospice to our Galway Head Office to share the vision behind this vital project.

They spoke about the urgent need for a children's hospice on Ireland's western seaboard and what it would mean for children and families facing some of life's most difficult challenges.

Sunflower Children's Hospice will be Ireland's first children's hospice built outside Dublin.

On 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟵𝘁𝗵, teams from across JJ Rhatigan will take on the 4 Peaks Challenge to raise funds for this vital facility.

𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

We were delighted to launch our Graduate Programme this month, welcoming 13 graduates across Engineering, Quantity Surveying and Design to our Headquarters in Galway. Our Senior Leadership team, programme partners, mentors and past graduates were present to show their support, share their knowledge and welcome the new cohort.

This programme, now in its third year in Ireland and its first in the UK, brings together graduates from both countries in a joint Learning & Development experience including:

• Departmental rotations
• One-to-one mentorship
• Support toward CIOB and RICS membership, 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆
