The 2027 Built Heritage Investment Scheme is now open for grant applications for works in Galway City to:
- Protected Structures
- Structures in Architectural Conservation Areas (ACAs)
- Vernacular Buildings
- Historic Shopfronts

The Built Heritage Investment Scheme (BHIS) aims to support owners and occupiers of historic buildings through grant supported investment to maintain and conserve these important structures.
Central to the BHIS is the promotion of best conservation practice, and the support of skilled, experienced conservation professionals, craft workers, and tradespeople through employment.
The BHIS is administered by Galway City Council Architectural Conservation and funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage/ National Built Heritage Service.
