Our colleague Adam Grewenda, Digital Twin Growth Lead at Woolpert, is moderating a panel at EuroBLECH 2026 at The Hanover Exhibition and Trade Center next week.

It’s World Space Week, so here’s what satellites do for infrastructure on the ground.

Murphy Geospatial’s InSAR satellite monitoring uses repeat radar images from space to measure ground and structural movement to millimetre precision across wide areas, including on soft ground without ground reflectors. It’s used on dams, slopes, embankments, railways, bridges and coastal sites to spot movement early.

When the track layout at King’s Cross was rebuilt, someone had to record exactly where it ended up.

The £1.2 billion East Coast Upgrade renewed the track, signalling and overhead line equipment on the approach into King’s Cross, simplifying a layout that had made arrivals and departures slower than they needed to be.

Working for Central Rail Systems Alliance, our team surveyed the as-built alignment and level of around 10.5km of track, on a live site shared with multiple contractors and constant plant movements.
