Timber Frame Wall Build 🤝🏼 KORE Insulated Foundation System

Giles explains how the KORE Insulated Foundation System works seamlessly with a timber frame wall build-up, helping to maintain continuity of insulation where the wall meets the foundation.

When you’re building to Passive House standard, every junction matters.

Getting that connection right from the ground up is key to creating a high-performance thermal envelope.

Foundation 1 is in. Foundation 2 is next.

The first KORE Insulated Foundation System is now installed on OCR Sustainable Developments’ site in the UK, and the team is getting ready to lay the blinding.

The KORE Insulated Foundation System is a structural insulated foundation for new build homes. It is designed, insulated and ready for the build to go up on, and our on site specialist supports the team through the install.

Thanks to the OCR team for having us on site. More to follow as the homes go up.

Build better, together.

We are delighted to share that the KORE Insulated Foundation System is now officially live on the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) Solutions Library! 🌿🏗️

Designed to wrap the entire foundation in high-performance EPS, our system effectively eliminates wall-to-floor thermal bridging, slashes concrete usage by up to 40%, and delivers exceptional ground-floor U-values (0.09 to 0.11 W/m²K).

Being featured on the UKGBC Solutions Library highlights our ongoing commitment to driving sustainable construction, reducing embodied carbon, and supporting the industry's transition toward a net-zero built environment.

Better buildings start with better materials. 🏗️

This Climate Action Week, we’re joining Climate Action Week Ireland and organisations across the country in turning climate commitments into action.

The KORE Group is 1 of 19 organisations selected for Ireland’s Sustainable Development Goals Champions Programme. As an Irish manufacturer, we take that as a responsibility to show how transparent, verified construction products can support Ireland’s move to a low-carbon economy.

We love seeing our KORE Insulated Foundation System in action on site. This fantastic one-off build features an ICF (Insulated Concrete Formwork) structure designed in collaboration with Gloria Design and Adrian Groza.

By pairing ICF with the KORE Insulated Foundation System, this project is set to achieve exceptional thermal performance, superior energy efficiency, and a solid foundation right from the ground up.

A massive thanks to the team for choosing KORE to anchor this high-efficiency modern build. Stay tuned for more progress updates as this dream home comes together!

What gets measured, gets managed. 📊♻️

Marking 10 years of sustainability progress is more than just looking back. It’s about accountability, transparent reporting, and setting a new benchmark for the construction and energy sectors. Sustainability is no longer just a compliance exercise; it's a commercial advantage that drives real-world efficiencies.

Take a look at our new report detailing a decade of progress, data-backed operations, and our ongoing path forward: https://f.mtr.cool/evuascwhge

The report covers both Group businesses: KORE Insulation, the EPS insulation manufacturer founded in Kilnaleck in 1997, and KORE Retrofit, its SEAI-registered One Stop Shop retrofit business. It is a narrative companion to KORE Group's 2025 VSME Sustainability Report, which was independently verifie...
