On your marks, get set… and get ready for the Kirby Way Series on Friday, 21 August!

This summer, teams will set off from our Off-Site Manufacturing facility in Portloaise in aid of the National Maternity Hospital Foundation and Galway Hospice Foundation.

Participants can choose from a 50km cycle, 100km cycle, or 10km run.

Kirby was proud to lead the electrical team on the recent DIY SOS: The Big Build project in Painstown, County Kildare.

Delivered over nine days, the project focused on completing the Connolly family home following the sudden and unexpected loss of Daragh, a husband and father. With the support of DIY SOS, along with an incredible group of volunteers and tradespeople, the house was transformed into a home for Ramona and Oran as they begin to rebuild their lives.

Well done to Stephen Brennan, Kirby Site Manager, Baz Ashmawy, and the entire DIY SOS crew for making this possible.

Kirby has been appointed by National Grid to its Qualifying Utilities Dynamic Market (QUDM) Framework for substation construction and upgrades.

The framework has been created to support National Grid’s RIIO T3 programme, which will see significant investment in electricity transmission infrastructure across England and Wales.

Michael Murray, Kirby’s Group Business Development and Power & Renewables Director, said: “This award follows years of successful delivery in the power and renewables space across Scotland and Ireland.

“We look forward to working with National Grid to ensure it can draw on the full strength of the supply chain to deliver the infrastructure needed for a resilient, future ready electricity network.”

Kirby has been awarded a place for the national delivery of mechanical and electrical installations on substation projects.

Alongside this two-year development programme, Gavin is evolving his career. Having joined us as an Electrical Apprentice fresh from school, he’s now managing a multi-million-euro data centre project, as we support him to accelerate his career.

Kirby is delighted to support the Foran Cycling Team as they participate in the Rás Tailteann 2026. The race began on Wednesday in Portlaoise and will finish on Sunday in Dunboyne, Co. Meath.

The Kirby Golf Classic teed off at Portumna Golf Club, Galway, bringing together clients and suppliers who generously supported our Kirby Way Charity Cycle 2025, raising over €500,000 for charity.

Kirby welcomed the May edition of the Skillnet MMC Accelerate business support event to our Off‑Site Manufacturing Facility in Portlaoise.

The session provided an excellent opportunity for Skillnet Ireland members to see advanced manufacturing and off‑site delivery in action, and to explore how innovation and digitalisation are transforming project delivery across the sector.

The event featured presentations from Mikey Ryan, Group Director of Operations, Mark Danaher, Director – Digital Construction & IT, and Adrian Furey, VP Dexcom Ireland - Athenry, followed by a facility tour and a demonstration from our Digital Construction team, showcasing the latest technologies in use at Kirby.

Kirby participated in the Fittest Company Challenge at the Regeneron Great Limerick Run on Sunday, 3rd May 2026.

Over 40 employees participated across the marathon, half marathon and 6‑mile events with plenty of encouragement from colleagues along the route.

Kirby recently attended Autodesk DevCon 2026 in Amsterdam, gaining insight into the latest developments in AI, automation and connected data for design and construction.

Well done to Nacho Soto, who took part in the Dynamo Hackathon and was part of the winning team behind Orphan X—a tool designed to identify incomplete or unsafe system logic early in design, helping to reduce risk and rework further down the line.
