From our facility in Poland to onboard installation in Marseille.

The ADA ramps and spa doors prefabricated by our NTS team are now being installed onboard Carnival Freedom during the vessel’s dry dock.

Retrofitting new elements within an existing ship is rarely straightforward. The team must work around the vessel’s existing structure, coordinate with other work taking place onboard and respond quickly when adjustments are needed.

Working alongside our group companies, the NTS team is installing and welding the new elements to help improve accessibility and support the onboard passenger experience.

It is a good example of what NTS does best: taking a technical requirement, developing a practical solution and following it through from prefabrication to completion onboard.

This week, ahead of World Mental Health Day, we shared advice from the Mental Health Foundation (MHF) with our team. The MHF encourages open conversations around mental health and offers tips on how to feel more confident supporting ourselves and others.

We are also proud to have fully trained Mental Health First Aiders in our teams who are available to listen and provide support, alongside a range of health and wellbeing benefits available through our company-wide Westfield Health Membership.

Vessels operating across international markets must respond to different regulatory and accessibility requirements. That can mean adapting existing spaces and finding practical solutions within the constraints of a working ship.

Accessibility is also an important part of the onboard experience on cruise ships. The right technical solution can help make facilities easier and more comfortable for everyone to use.

Our NTS team in Poland is currently prefabricating ramps for Carnival Freedom in line with ADA Upgrades (Americans with Disabilities Act), ahead of the vessel’s upcoming dry dock in Marseille.

The ramps are being fabricated and welded at our Polish facility, ready for the team to install onboard during the dry dock period.

It is exactly the type of project our team enjoys: a specific technical requirement, a tight programme and a solution that must work within an existing vessel.

We will share more as the project moves from our facility in Poland to installation onboard Carnival Freedom.

Damien Morgan, Managing Director of NTS, joined the AMIC Factory of the Future event hosted by Belfast Region City Deal at Queen’s University Belfast, following an invitation from Kerry Muldoon, Executive Director of NI Maritime & Offshore (NIMO).

Representing the wider Rathbane Group, Damien shared the group's expertise, current operations and upcoming projects, including work on Margaritaville at Sea’s Beachcomber following its recent arrival in Belfast.

The discussion highlighted how collaboration through NIMO can strengthen Northern Ireland’s maritime sector, support innovation and create opportunities across the region.

That’s a wrap on SMM 2026 for NTS.

We had a productive few days in Hamburg, meeting with suppliers and technical specialists from across the marine industry.

The team also had the opportunity to see the latest marine technologies and engineering solutions first-hand, particularly those relevant to NTS’s technical work on board vessels worldwide.

Last week, our team in Poland came together in Gdańsk for the NTS Poland Celebration Event at Wróblówka.

Our senior leadership team shared a business update, reflecting on where NTS is today and outlining our plans and priorities for the future.

The afternoon continued with great food, plenty of catch-ups and some friendly competition with our Darts Tournament. Congratulations to our winners and thank you to everyone who took part.

With our presence in Poland approaching 20 years, the event was also an opportunity to recognise the people and long-standing relationships behind our operations there, and the contribution they continue to make to projects around the world.

A busy week is underway at SMM 2026 in Hamburg.

Representing NTS are Damien Morgan and Kent Knutsson, alongside Conleth McConville, Joint Group Managing Director of Rathbane Group.

As a key event for the global maritime industry, SMM brings together the latest developments in marine technology and engineering.

As a specialist in marine piping, structural works and technical project delivery, the event provides a valuable opportunity for NTS to explore new technologies and engage with suppliers and industry partners.

Golf, good company and giving back.

We were delighted to support our sister company by entering a team in their annual charity golf day in aid of Cancer Focus NI.

The day brought together clients, colleagues and suppliers for some friendly competition, great conversations and the opportunity to strengthen relationships, all while raising funds for a charity that makes a real difference to people and families affected by cancer.
