The local pub can be the heart of an Irish village, the villages around here are lucky to have a half dozen or more pubs. Growing up in Shannon we had two, one was owned by Guinness and one was owned locally.This place was integral to our community. Anyone who ever put on a jersey be it for GAA, Soccer, Rugby, Athletics as well as many other sports and clubs or societies in Shannon can can be thankful to the landlord of that place for his support down through the years. Rarely was anyone disappointed when seeking sponsorship or support from Aidan. There were great times there whether it was Don Meskall on a monday night. Sunday lunchtime sessions or a shakin' tacky on a Thursday night (when Thursdays were Thursdays) everyone has great memories there. It was a good day for Shannon when he set up business in town. The Shannon Knights is the establishment, Aidan is the institution. Thanks for everything Aidan.
