Battery Grants

About the scheme
The Battery Energy Storage System grant supports homeowners in installing home battery storage systems. Battery storage enables electricity to be stored for later use, improving energy flexibility and helping to lower electricity costs.
The grant is a flat rate of €600 for systems of 5kWh or larger. Batteries of smaller than 5kWh are not eligible to apply for this grant.
Battery and Solar PV
If you are installing both solar PV and a battery system, you can apply for both grants through a single application. There is no need to submit separate applications for each measure.
If you have an existing solar PV application and would like to apply for the battery system grant, you do not need to amend your existing solar PV application. Simply submit a new application for the battery system grant by logging into the portal. It is important to note that applications cannot be accepted for installations that have already started.
If you are only installing one of these measures at this time, you may apply for the grant for the other measure at a later date, provided all applicable eligibility criteria are met at the time of application.
