Too much, or exactly the right amount of drama?

This 6 metre media wall was built to make a statement.

Colour-changing lights, marble-effect panels, symmetrical display recesses, TV, fireplace and a full wall-to-wall layout.

The bit people usually split on is the lighting. Some want warm white only. Others want full colour control depending on the mood, match night, party, film night, or just because it annoys the neighbours nicely.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱.

On this feature wall, the curved oak countertop softens the whole unit and stops it feeling like a big flat box stuck to the wall.

The oak shelves add warmth, the vertical slats give height, and the lighting does the quiet heavy lifting by making the whole thing feel built-in rather than bolted on.

Small details like the radius on the counter, shadow gaps, cable management and lighting placement are what make these walls work properly.

This wasn’t just a case of throwing a media wall onto a blank wall.

This room had a few details that had to be worked around first.

There was existing coving running across the wall, so that had to be removed and replaced properly afterwards. There was also flooring missing where the old hearth had been, so we lifted, repaired, and finished the floor as part of the job.

The awkward bit was the L-shaped layout.

The couch was positioned beside the radiator, so the wall had to be aligned around the actual viewing angle from the seating area. If we had brought the feature wall fully across to the left, the client wouldn’t have been able to see the whole wall properly from the couch.

So we left a small recess on the left-hand side.

It looks intentional, and it gives them a perfect space for a Christmas tree, lamp, plant, or something decorative.

The client also wanted the wall kept slim, so we used a flat fire, added a dedicated soundbar box, and kept the whole design clean and balanced.

The end result is a media wall that looks like it was always meant to be part of the room.

Most people stick a TV on the wall and think they’ve “done” the room.

Then they live with it.

No storage. No structure. Just a big blank wall doing nothing.

This was designed properly from the start.

Scaled in CAD. Rendered before build. Then built around how the room is actually used.

Storage that works. TV that moves properly. Cables hidden the right way.

And panels that actually finish the space instead of looking stuck on.

There’s a difference between putting something on a wall…

…and designing it.

Curves on the outside.
Rough texture in between.

Concrete effect plaster in the recesses.

It might seem like a small detail, but once the lights come on it completely changes the wall.

Completed just before Christmas.

Full black feature wall with a plastered centre console and 3-sided electric fire.
Mirror mounted above to keep the wall clean and balanced.

Side recesses finished in black marble effect with gold slatted panels.
Bulkheads with recessed spotlights.
New coving installed throughout the room.

TV installed on an automatic drop-down bracket inside the right recess so it lowers to viewing height and turns toward the seating area.

Modern, dramatic, and properly finished.
