Cold Weather Update - Friday 3rd January 2025
The RCÉ Executive Team met this afternoon to formally review all track inspections that have taken place across the country today in the context of the current weather forecast issued by Met Eireann (met.ie)
Following that review RCE wish to advise that under welfare consideration for greyhounds and the public safety advice regarding travelling during inclement weather, the following racing scheduled for tonight (Friday 3rd January) has been cancelled:
Shelbourne Park Greyhound Stadium, Dublin
Curraheen Park Greyhound Stadium, Cork
Kingdom Greyhound Stadium, Tralee
Newbridge Greyhound Stadium
Galway Greyhound Stadium
Clonmel Greyhound Stadium
Kilkenny Greyhound Stadium
All public and private trials have also been cancelled.
A further inspection will be carried out by the Dundalk Racing Management at 1.15pm, after which a decision will be announced.
All venues will continue to be monitored with further inspections taking place at each location tomorrow morning. These inspections will be formally reviewed by the RCÉ Executive team and any amended arrangements to racing and trial schedules will be issued via website updates as early as possible to prevent unnecessary travel.
