Ahern Bros. has just completed a successful project at Blackrock, Cork for Lough Contracting. The contract required brick slips and lime mortar repointing, which were completed to an exceptional standard by Ahern Bros.

Ahern Bros. has completed the rake out and repointing of all brickwork, including repairs to arches and sills at the old Garda Síochána Station on MacCurtain Street, Cork City in partnership with main contractor Summerhill Construction Co. Ltd.

When we had our first consultation with Chris Southgate it revealed beautiful Cork White Limestone underneath a heavily painted and plastered front facade.

We then using best practice in conservation, repaired the limestone and cleaned the surface.

WE would like to thank Summerhill Construction Ltd., Southgate Associates Conservation Consultants, Helling & Gebel, Thomas Parsons Leadwork, Arup and Grafton Architects, Stoneware Studios, AB Scaffolding and Southern Sandblasting & Powder Coating for their help in the restoration procedures.
