A powerful lightning strike shocked students and teachers at Government Edward College in Pabna, Bangladesh, when it split a large mahogany tree cleanly down the middle. The incident occurred in May 2025 under an apparently calm sky. Witnesses reported a blinding flash followed by a deafening sound. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The image of the split tree went viral, serving as a stark reminder of nature’s unpredictability and the importance of preventive safety measures in open-air educational environments.
