“The Bridge of Hope” — a project 15 years in the making.
Designed as a point of meeting to bridge East & West Jerusalem, the concept incorporates an element of Vanta Black—a material so dark it creates what I call "the precipice of the black hole."
The idea is deeply inspired by Sir Anish Kapoor, whom I collaborated with in London in the 1980s. His work absorbs 99.9% of light, drawing you into "infinity & disappearance."
To me, this draws attention to the edge of the precipice on which humanity stands before falling. Facing it takes courage—the sanity to step back, embrace "the other," and choose connection over the void.
Developed with drawings across Jerusalem, Cape Town, and London, it is my hope that this bridge will one day come to fruition... "or remain in the drawer until another dreamer comes along."
