Lots of work! Started a new project for the City of Kfar Saba! A Story map for their General Plan Update. I already did this project in 2019. It was my first Story Map! So I have a special place in my heart for the City of Kfar Saba. And now they are updating their General Plan once again because of the new Metro project coming into the city. So very excited about this one.
And currently working hard on an ongoing project with Yael Architecture and Town Planning. Doing all the GIS as part of the development of a Bus Rapid Transit line in the Tel Aviv metropolitan Area. The Yellow line. Creating many maps used for analysis and for reports and presentations.
And while rockets rain in this land and the new fashion is to use the word "Zionist" as a curse word, Israelis continue to do creative, constructive and entrepreneurial work. One hand fights to protect ourselves from those wanting to destroy us and the other is continuing to build this country, create new technologies, and come up with new ideas of how to improve our life here. This is one example of such an endeavor. A project I had a small part in and has recently been published!
A new Story Map about Resource and Waste Management in the Gaza Strip. The story map is based on a research project conducted by Adi Mager, a global expert in optimal construction waste management. She is a lecturer, researcher, and consultant on circular economy, environmental innovation, and technological entrepreneurship. Her work bridges academic research, field implementation, and public policy advancement in Israel and worldwide. She has lead a research project focused on developing an innovative model for construction waste management in the Gaza Strip, with the aim of linking environmental rehabilitation to regional diplomatic processes.
Adi wanted a Story Map telling the story of the existing condition of construction waste and destruction in the Gaza Strip. There were a series of maps created by Adi Ben Nun, lecturer and Director of the Hebrew University GIS Center. My assignment was to create a captivating dynamic story from these maps texts and photos. The Story Map was created in Hebrew and English. Here is the link to the English version.
