Concept: The Language of Paper Folds

The defining idea behind the project lies in the abstraction of paper folds. Inspired by the craft of origami, the design attempts to translate the delicate geometry of folded paper into an architectural expression. Rather than creating a literal or symmetrical interpretation of origami, the intention was to explore irregular folds and fragmented planes that feel spontaneous — as if a sheet of paper has been twisted and folded into a sculptural form.

Project : The Padma House, Ahmedabad
(Architecture, Interior Design and Landscape)

The home responds to the site context of views on the east and southern side and has large openings, a double height veranda and a terrace on these sides. A double height inclined wall at the east entry facilitates wider viewing angles from the veranda and from the interior spaces of the home, creating a striking visual element visible from all the public spaces of the home.

A composition of clean volumes, deep recesses, and linear screens — designed to filter the harsh sunlight while sculpting shadows that evolve through the day.
Muted textures meet bold stone surfaces, creating a balanced dialogue between solidity and softness.

Verandahs, and layered thresholds dissolve the boundary between inside and outside — allowing landscape, light, and silence to define the experience.

Minimal in form.
Rich in detail.
