“Conservation is about listening to a building’s past before deciding its future.” — Awan Ahmad
On this project we faced material decay and layered interventions that risked erasing original fabric. I began with a measured diagnostic: archival research, non-invasive surveys, and selective sampling to map deterioration patterns. That guided a targeted strategy of consolidation, compatible infill, and reversible interventions to stabilize structure while keeping historic character legible.
My training in conservation architecture shaped choices: selecting breathable mortars, matching original craft details, and documenting every step for future teams.
