Kashmir once had a unique architectural identity wooden khatamband ceilings, intricate pinjrakari windows, sloping roofs, and homes built to withstand our climate.

Today, many of these elements are slowly disappearing, replaced by designs that could belong anywhere in the world.

The house needs restructuringโ€ฆ but letโ€™s decide with the lady of the house first.

Every house has a story, and every family has its own way of living. Before making any structural changes, itโ€™s important to understand the needs of the people who use the space every day.

During our site visit, we identified five major challenges: an inconvenient staircase that isnโ€™t ideal for residential use, the absence of a hamaam, no proper lobby leading to congested interiors, a blind side limiting light and ventilation, and an outdated roof and elevation that need a modern redesign.

A successful renovation isnโ€™t just about breaking and rebuilding. Itโ€™s about creating a home that feels more comfortable, functional, and beautiful for the family living in it.
