Project : Vara 🍀

The Terrace bedroom here gets the west sun, thus we created small openings with solid wood shutters to cut the heat yet see the big tree bloom, a skylight on top to get the light, this opens up to a private front sit out space toward north which Is yet to be filled with plants,
the idea was to create a guest suite with a pantry, storage, attached dress and toilet and a private terrace 🌿

At the very heart of this home is the double height bright open court featuring the floating exposed staircase. The brick wall narrates the shadow story as the sun fills the space with sunshine and warmth through the skylight strategically placed towards the north cutting the glare and heat.

Project : Vara 🍀

The play of volume and levels - the double height living with a mezzanine overlook. We have created a vertical dialogue that makes the home feel both expansive and intimate.

The mezzanine study here is a carved out space accessed from the staircase landing. The space is timeless with smooth IPS floor and exposed concrete ceiling, window with integrated seat overlooking the garden.
The small circular skylights act as funnels filtering dancing spots of sun across the floor throughout the day.

The soul and heart of the home, where life happens ❤️, the courtyard with this floating exposed concrete staircase is not just a transition, it’s a vertical circulation which is becomes the main feature of the house.

Airy, sun drenched, open space planning ensures a space with strong visual connection which breathes, have natural light throughout the day with changing shadows on the brick wall and the staircase.

The amalgamation of materials and textures used is so timeless and We are in love with the Magadi red cobble stone for the courtyard here.
