🏠 Building a home? Don’t ignore the plinth height!

Ideally, keeping your home’s plinth around 1.5–2 ft above the road level can help account for future changes in road height.

Over the years, road resurfacing and development can gradually raise the road level. If your plinth is too low, you may eventually face issues such as rainwater entering the property or your house level becoming lower relative to the road.

But going too high isn’t always the answer either! A 3 ft plinth may require a longer vehicle ramp, which can extend closer to or into the public road/footpath area and potentially create approval or encroachment issues.

✅ Plan the plinth height carefully
✅ Consider future road levels
✅ Plan enough space for a proper ramp
✅ Follow local building regulations

A small decision during construction can prevent bigger problems later. 🏡
