Showcasing the country’s growing prowess of indigenous manufacturing and a major milestone in the path towards ‘AatmaNirbhar Bharat’, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi commissioned the country’s first indigenous aircraft carrier, Indian Naval Ship (INS) Vikrant, at Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL). Every part of INS Vikrant has its own merits, strengths, and development journey. It symbolizes indigenous potential, resources and skills.
The Prime Minister explained the massive proportions of the carrier while comparing it to a floating city that produces electricity sufficient to power 5000 households. He also added that the wiring used in INS Vikrant will reach Kashi from Kochi.
Polycab India is honoured to be associated with the project by providing wires & cables for the wiring and control of the most critical firefighting systems on board. We are committed to the Indian Defence Industry with our cutting-edge technology products.
With this commissioning, India has entered into a select band of nations that have a niche capability to indigenously design and build an aircraft carrier. The project is a testimony to the nation’s resolve for self-reliance.
