In 2014, its principal owner Aditya Advani was presented an Award of Excellence and a Certificate of Commendation by the Indian Society of Landscape Architects (ISOLA). Aditya joined the firm after graduating with a Masters in Landscape Architecture from UC

Berkeley in 1991, and as a leading designer with a tenure of 24 years in the firm, he authored the design of open spaces of all scales and types – community parks, neighborhood greens, IT parks, city development plans, and colleges campuses. Our practice follows a boutique design firm model where the focus is on creating custom crafted designs for each project. Our goal is to create a tailored solution that is iconic and unique. We believe that principal level
involvement is the key to a successful project. With over 25 years experience in landscape architecture, Aditya Advani is hands on involved in all projects from inception to construction. ROHA has embraced the principle of sustainable design from its inception. Aditya became a LEED accredited professional in 2003. The firm begins its site investigations with the idea of low maintenance landscape, low water consuming plants, minimal impervious surfacing and maximum rainwater recapture. Shade and sun studies drive the design solution so that people friendly landscapes are created.

QUTUB GARDEN, MEHRAULI, NEW DELHI
The original Bharti Airtel’s headquarters near Qutb were remade to become a high end fashion retail site. The building facades were redone by Studio Lotus and the site plan was recreated by Roha into a modern and elegant setting for the two of Tarun Tahiliani and Anita Dongre. Previously an office complex with multiple levels, hidden front doors, and a wide driveway, the site had virtually no parking. Most oddly the two buildings on the site, sat at 45 degrees. The front yard was a sunken dank garden, the central court was occupied by a large pile of rocks fashioned into a fountain, and the back site an unused tennis court.

These features were removed, and the site plan was reworked to create a plaza like feel with ample parking. The awkward angle of the building alignment was made into an asset with an angled striped geometry that creates a crisp modern pin stripe scheme that unifies the cut-up site. Left over wasted spaces have been redone to become gathering lawns for parties and fashion shows and the chaotic nature of the site has been reset with an order that feels quiet yet present.

The rooftop of this South Delhi flat was a lost and wasted space, dominated by a large water tank. Lovers of gardens and nature, the family was keen to have a proper garden. The roof was redesigned to create a garden studio apartment for the grown son, so he could have his own pad.

The rest of the roof was grassed, and a large planter was created to grow a luxurious garden. A trellis and pond were built to provide shade and a sense of relief from the urban heat.

The rooftop was transformed from a lost space into a precious amenity for its users that can be used in small groups or for large parties.

The outlet for Royal Enfield Goa is located on the road to Baga Beach. While redesigning an existing site with a small traditional house and an outdoor Italian restaurant, the client wished to keep the original feel and ambiance of the place.

The architects Studio Lotus introduced two large metal and glass buildings around the original villa, keeping intact much of the courtyard and its lush plantings. More plants were added to make the site vibrant and tropical. Rainwater was captured and redirected to the nearby river and majority of the heavily wooded trees on the edges were retained to create an insert that seems like it has always been there. The central courtyard is an extended part of the rebuilt restaurant and the locus of all activity.

Roha designed the landscape for the new Krishi Bhawan in Bhubaneshwar working under Studio Lotus. The building and its grounds are designed to be statement on the unique qualities of Odisha. While the building is inspired by the ikat patterns of indigenous cloth, the gardens are designed to showcase the issues of and solutions to Odisha’s agricultural heritage.

Blessed with abundant rain but all in two months of the year, the state of Odisha suffers from a variety of agricultural issues. The design is a demonstration garden that highlights the use of irrigation channels, rainwater harvesting, soil remediation and organic agricultural practices to improve crop yields. The design features educational art components and in intensive roof garden.
