👉 Fonte d’Amore by MOFA Studio transforms an unused courtyard in New Delhi into a surreal, climate-responsive retreat shaped by memory, computation, and craft. Inspired by a wedding proposal at Rome’s Trevi Fountain and the fluid architecture of Antoni Gaudí, the project reimagines personal experiences as immersive spatial storytelling.
👉 At the heart of the courtyard sits a sculptural stone fountain reminiscent of the Trevi Fountain, while arches evolve upward from Renaissance symmetry into flowing Gaudí-inspired forms. Across five levels, rigid geometry gradually dissolves into soft, cloud-like surfaces that blur the boundary between architecture and sculpture.
👉 What makes Fonte d’Amore especially compelling is its collaborative process between AI-generated exploration and traditional craftsmanship. Computational modelling, parametric systems, and environmental simulations worked alongside hand-carved stone detailing by local artisans — creating a design language where technology proposes and craftsmanship refines.
👉 Beyond its surreal aesthetic, the courtyard also functions as a passive cooling system for Delhi’s harsh climate. Wind-catching oculi, evaporative cooling from the fountain, layered greenery, and stack ventilation work together to create a naturally temperate microclimate without mechanical intervention.
