A city street should serve more than just vehicles — it should serve people, livelihoods, and the environment.
Designing corridors with dedicated bus lanes, generous pedestrian spaces, and active ground-level plazas creates opportunities for organized street hawkers to operate without blocking movement. When planned thoughtfully, informal commerce becomes a vibrant part of the urban ecosystem rather than a conflict with it.
At the same time, integrating trees, planters, and green corridors increases urban foliage, reduces heat, improves air quality, and makes streets more comfortable for everyday life.
