When retrofitting fails, the problem is often not the material, but the diagnosis and the methodology. Sometimes a structure does not need a standard repair, it needs the right engineering response to the actual cause of failure. Because when the failure mechanism is misunderstood, even the best materials can only hide the problem temporarily.

At times, we need to go beyond books to restore structural integrity.

Because every structural failure is different. Retrofitting is not about applying the same solution everywhere, it is about understanding why the structure failed, how its behaviour has changed, and what it needs to perform safely again. We have to combine engineering judgment with research, codes, and real structural behaviour to develop solutions specific to the problem.

Nine years ago, BALKAPSO started with a simple belief that engineering is not just about retrofitting buildings; it’s about protecting lives. Over the last nine years, we’ve designed structures, strengthened ageing buildings, investigated failures, carried out retrofitting projects, trained engineers, and continuously invested in research so that every decision we make is backed by science, not assumptions.

Every project has taught us something.
Every challenge has made us better.
Every client who trusted us has become a part of this journey.

Today, BALKAPSO is more than a construction company. It is a team committed to building safer, stronger, and more resilient infrastructure for our communities. As we celebrate this milestone, our biggest achievement isn’t the number of projects we’ve completed, it’s the trust we’ve earned.
