Launching of Khokhra ROB:-
01-03-2022 @4:30pm in an unprecedented event in WR, launching of 92mts Open web girder of khokhra ROB was completed without any major hiccups and with proper safety and keeping all precautions in mind. This OWG is the heaviest (1045MT) and the longest (92mts) single span girder ever launched in Western Railways. Thanks to the invalueable all railways staff and ahemdabad staff at various stages of the ex*****on, the myriad issues encountered before and during the launching of the girder of this size were well tackled and handled. This is first of the two girders to be launched at the same location.
Some issues tackled during the launching involved-
1) Launching of the girder with a cantilever of 18 mts without nose.
2) Planning and design of temporary staging for girder launching.
3) Maintaining alignment encountered during the launching which was ensured with proper movement of winches.
4) Landing of the first bridge node after cantilever portion is traversed was very tricky.
5) The synchronized movement of winches so that girder moves at a uniform rate in a desired manner.
