Boosting Bihar’s connectivity, the Union Cabinet chaired by PM Modi Ji greenlights a transformative four-lane highway project! 🛣️✨
➡️ Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, has approved the construction of the four-lane Sahebganj–Areraj–Bettiah section of National Highway 139W in Bihar. The project, to be executed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), will span a total length of 78.942 km and entail an estimated investment of ₹3,822.31 crore.
➡️ This greenfield highway initiative is designed to significantly enhance connectivity between the state capital, Patna, and Bettiah, linking the northern Bihar districts of Vaishali, Saran, Siwan, Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur, East Champaran, and West Champaran, and extending access to regions along the Indo–Nepal border.
➡️ The project will serve as a major catalyst for regional development, connecting seven PM Gati Shakti economic nodes, six social nodes, eight logistic nodes, and nine major tourism and religious centres. This improved connectivity will facilitate access to key heritage sites and prominent destinations on the Buddhist tourist circuit.
➡️ Spanning 78.94 km, the project is expected to generate substantial employment, creating approximately 14.22 lakh man-days of direct employment and 17.69 lakh man-days of indirect employment.
